Since the proverbial cat is out of the bag....

Most who know me well know I've had my eye on a Concours for about 2 years. I put hardbags on the Busa in an effort to make the Busa work for something it just wasn't going to work for me for. A few Connies came up about 3 weeks ago for a decent price. I put the Busa on here for sale for a one week only, if it sells, it sells sale, and low and behold it sold. The new owner is an org member, but I'll let him tell you when he's good and ready who he is.

Last night I rode the C14 home in temps around 35 degrees and still had a big grin on my face when I got home. I think we may have a winner for my riding style.

I'll still clearly be around here since none of you pansies ever stick up to Vabs and we can't have her taking this place over.

Today was bittersweet, got to pull both bikes out and compare them side by side, there's actually quite a few similarities.

Then shortly after, the truck came for the Busa. I was legitimately sad to see it go. Hands down the best bike I've owned to date. I'm sure I'll pick up another one some day as a second bike. Having a toddler doesn't warrant that at this time in my life.

Here's a couple pics, 2009 C14 non-ABS, super clean (just my style) I'll be updating you all with ride reports, etc. One thing is for sure right off the bat....

Suzuki is missing out on this share of the market.

those r nice looking bikes

Hrmmm, odd, I wonder now why you chose the name? And why is there a GSX1300R on the tail of my Busa...

So, this photo you sent me last night, that's NOT the real Kawi? I'm so confused Bots. I think another member here who shall rename nameless at this time to protect him from your wrath said it best though - your new screen name should probably be GeezerBots. It's got a certain flow, a certain, how to you say, well, honesty about it. Now you've got the bike to match the ailing hip, the bum back, the apparent failing eyesight (my gosh could you go on about the headlights anymore?!)

For $200 I won't change your screen name, OR, in a few days, since you now are yet another Kawi owner on Hayabusa.oRg site, I welcome you to the role of moderator  Fetch Charlie a Sierra Mist, Omar likes cheerleader beer, Shawn hits the hard stuff and he is not cheap, Flicka (where's he been anyway?), he might want some sweet tea, semi just wants to be loved and as too many know, I can't have my moves like Jaeger without the Jaeger. Get crackin' boy!

Oh, and congrats on selling out...happy for ya, sort of...damn that hurts to say. Wait, I feel kind of......sick....it's green, Kawi green...ewwwwww...........I do not remember eating that... :puke:

wow I would ride that thing prob break it with my weight but it looks cool

Bots knows I can't be nice about any of this...he's like the brother I never wanted, smothered and left on the side of the road, then he stole my birthday too.

It's not a GSXR1300, it's a GSX1300R Not a GSXR. Jeesh Blanca, you've been on 4 wheels too long..

The 1300 was so eager, it jumped the gun and snuck in early...still counts, but I wouldn't expect a Kawi owner to understand

Rode 225 miles yesterday for ice cream. Got there and they were closed.

Only complaint so far on the Concours is the seat. My tailbone was killing me last night. Not sure if it's just a different position I need to get used to, or if a custom seat is in order. The factory Busa seat did the same thing to my tender tush..

After market pipe sounds great on the Concours. The Concours will definitely extend your riding season. I commuted into work @ 9 degrees. I really have enjoyed my Silver Bullet Concours. About 34 K and it runs great. Bringing it in for a major tune up this weekend, Valve check, oil, air filter, fuel filter, sparks, brake and clutch fluid. About a grand.

Enjoy!

All I got from this thread was......

"I just traded my Busa for a great set of headlights"

Which isn't a bad thing if the "Great Headlights" come attached to something that cooks, cleans, changes your oil and doesn't talk too much.

Rubb.

Rub, the reason Kawi has such bright headlights, is so that we can spot them in our mirrors and open the throttle just a tad, when they catch up to close. After all, they do belong behind a Busa. :moon:

I'll never be the one claiming my Concours is fast..... But she shoooo is comfy..

It may not be as fast as a Busa but I'll bet very few Busa riders could lose you on a ride.
The Connie will do 150 without a problem. How often do Busa Riders do 150+. Sure, some will say everyday. But not in street corners they won't.

Just curious what did you pay for it and how many miles were on the 09 you got? PM me if you don't want to tell the world.

Also, is the weather warming up enough for some more rides? So you can give more reports? Waiting to hear if there is anything you don't like.......

'09 with 5K miles, uber clean. $8K out the door from a dealership.

The ONLY thing I'm complaining about so far is the seat. It's too soft, and my fat a.. doesn't like it. Trying to find a new seat before my June 10 day trip.
