Since the proverbial cat is out of the bag....

'09 with 5K miles, uber clean. $8K out the door from a dealership.

The ONLY thing I'm complaining about so far is the seat. It's too soft, and my fat a.. doesn't like it. Trying to find a new seat before my June 10 day trip.

Try one of these, only weighs 190 grams so you can shed some weight. Also has a nice place for your tailbone to fit into among other things or purposes. Only costs $250 I can sit on that all day long.:moon:

And it lets the breeze blow in! BONUS!!! WTAF?

That thing is going to look kind-a-funny on the Connie, plus where will Bots stash the moonpies? :hide:

I am actually looking at a Black 09 Concours just like yours. Except this one has abs and a few added aftermarket parts. (Heli bars, Corbin seat, Throttlemeister.)

I have a few questions if you don't mind throwing your thoughts out there..

I've read the 08/09 mirrors aren't good and the 10+. But after reading what you put they are fine. That's good to hear I was worried about that.

Also do you notice any major heat on your legs?

Windshield seems high enough or do you think the 10+ would be a good upgrade to keep the wind off your helmet at speeds?

What about pegs? Do they seem to be a good height or does it seem like lowering them would help like they do on the busa.

Thanks

Ok, here we go.

The people that complain about the 08/09 mirrors are people that have never ridden a sportbike before. They tweaked the location of the mirrors in 2010 with the fairing update so you don't see "as much" of the saddlebags in the view. I have ZERO complaints about the mirrors. 99% more rear view than the Busa ever was.

Heat on my legs is there, NOTHING unbearable for me, and only when at stop and go type traffic, and there's usually more things uncomfortable during those times. While moving 45mph plus, there's no more or less heat on my legs than the busa had.

Most people with 2010's and newer want the '08/'09 windshield since it buffets less than the '10 windshield. The cat's meow is the new '15 windshield. I hope to be remedying all of this in two days when my MRA adjustable "wing" gets here and I install it on my factory screen. I'll keep you posted... Either way, it's still night and day wind/cold protection vs the busa, and windshields are like seats, they perform different for everyone based on height/weight/riding style.

Pegs are perfect for me. More legroom by far than the Busa with Buell pegs.

I won't do any bar risers or footpeg lowering for at least a couple years, I've very happy with the bar and peg reach right now.

Any other Questions, let me know.

FWIW, most people don't like the Corbin seats on these. I love a firm seat, and it seems like the Corbins on these are extra firm. Maybe see if the one you're looking at comes with the stock seat too..

:beerchug:

Yes it comes with the stock seat and bars/risers..

I am only 5'8" so the seat height kind of worries me and the guy that has the Concours is 5'10 and said that's why he did the Corbin. He said it made it alot easier to touch. I have a Corbin on my Busa and honestly It's comfortable but way harder then my stock seat. Took me a while to get used to it even after It was breaking in.

I am going to actually look at the bike tomorrow if the weather holds out.

Thanks for the info. I'm sure i'll have more questions on it..

There are other seat options if you are inseam challenged. The Connie is VERY tall.

Sargent makes a Low seat.

Finally got time to go check out the Concours and I loved it. I do see where people have issues with the windscreen, But it's not bad at all for me only being 5'8" tall.

I was in tennis shoes and the seat height wasn't too bad. I couldn't flat foot both feet but wasn't too far from it. Hopefully in my boots it's all good. If not I may lower it an inch.

The shaft drive makes things so smooth and quiet.

I ment to take a tape measure with me but forgot. Do you have any clue how wide it is? I paid for it but i'm not picking it up until tomorrow. Didn't want to drive that far in the truck unless I knew I was going to buy it so I took the Busa.
I leave my busa inside a garage that doesn't have a garage door anymore (was used for a man cave/entertainment room) and was wondering if it's going to fit through the door. I can take the bags off but the mirrors may be an issue.. I do have a garage also I can leave it in. But this is climate controlled.

Only issues with the bike is the TPMS batteries need to be replaced. Which as I research sucks to do.
And one of the fobs doesn't work. The guy said it needs a new battery. But atleast he has both of them as well as the manuals and all the paperwork from when it was new..

:cheerleader:

The Connie is 42" at the mirrors (fully extended, they fold in like car mirrors) and 38 or so at the bags.

MAKE SURE you read the owners manual about the key fobs, etc. It can save a headache later on.

If it's an '08/'09 supposedly you can replace the batteries in the TPMS sensors. The '10 up is a sealed one pc unit.

Join cog-online.org tons of info on these.

I'm installing an MRA x-creen tour windshield wing tonight, I'll post pics. Everyone swears this gets rid of ALL buffeting.
