Ahhhh ****! I just saw Robbinsville is 341 miles from me! Approx 300 of which are HWY miles. I just got my bike last weekend and currently only have 175 miles on her. Bad idea to ride that long on HWY while in 1st 500 mile break-in period??? Thoughts?

I found it very good to ride on the highway during break-in.

Just make arrangements with someone like John ( Gixerhp ) for 4 quarts of oil and a filter, and vary your speed for the entire trip up. From what I understand you just wouldn't want to make the entire trip in sixth gear at say 5K RPMs

I bet! everyone on here so far seems very nice & helpful. BigBS just PM'd me so I'm working out the logistics as far as the break-in goes. Would definitely want to have my oil & filter changed before the ride back though.

I'm going to contact the hotels to get on the wait list as soon as I can come up for air here at the office.

I have to say....one of the main reasons I decided to get back into the sport was to have the opportunity to get out and make new friends. I can't imagine a better scenario w/ great group of people all w/ the same passion. hehehe
I understand there may be a ride up into a pass/canyon area? What does that consist of? Love me some twisties!
