So, what is the fastest bike NOWDAYS?

Hayabusa used to wear the crown. Held it for many, many years. But now, the crown has been passed down to other faster, lighter, newer bikes as is properly done in a kingdom... giving way to new breeds, new ways, and such.

So, who is wearing the crown today? I know the crown gets passed around with each new release year.... first the Ninja 1400, then the GIX1000, then Honda... who has it today?

Lets not count the over seas one offs like Harley Agusta's 314 and such since you can not run down the street and buy one

Does one bike hold the crown or is it split for strip time and top speed?
The 14 has the highest top speed and the busa is quickest in the quarter :thumbsup: The new zx-10 is quickest from 0-180 but only 4th quickest on the strip behind the bus, 14, and new gixxer 1000 :beerchug: Go suzi

both the busa and 14 are limited at 186 ??? the article i read in cycle world said the busa got to the limiter a little easier and sooner than the 14..

matters to me. speed is strait line. and the rush of that strait line is awesome. Mladin turning is very different, and there is not a bike that "turns faster", just a skilled rider that does. I take my Busa to many race tracks and that is a blast, but what I bought into is pinning the throttle, kicking thru gears and going faster than just about anything else available for less than $15k. I doubt buying a new/faster bike is REALLY noticeably faster [seriously doubt it], but I'm just wondering what has finally stolen it's speed crown. maybe nothing with the new model. and the liters are still very promising

We are in agreement. My point was two-fold, but I may not have made clear that I think that the bikes are so "neck and neck" these days that it is the rider that ultimately is the deciding factor in which bike is the fastest.

Enjoy the speed!

Quickest bike...rests with the rider
Fastest bike...rests with the limiter
Best bike...rests with the Hayabusa!

aye.. but the quickest rider will still be limited by the max the bike can do.

The 09 vmax is claiming the crown right now for "quickest"
Sorry your info is wrong the Busa and the B-King will eat the Max and leave it for dead. Like they said with a pro rider and traction spray on the track they could not touch the 9s in the 1/4. Also the top end speed on the Max is set to cut out at 135mph, unless the computer reads a full on drag run then it will give you an extra 10 mph over that.

well, the original Busa will always wear the top speed crown for a mass produced motorcycle. Until the 186mph limit is lifted anyways, if it ever is......
Hey qwikbusa, where abouts in OH r u at??? I,m around Mansfield.

I thought the fastest bike right now was the 08-09 zx10? Its faster than the bus and zx and only a few mph off the top end speed.

OKAY.... I hardly consider 5 units a year..."mass produced"...
But that new 08 model is pretty sweet.......

Were you not watching the 7 sec. Busa's post ????.....Hellllloooooo ??????...... 7.2 @ 204mph....that's really smokin' !!!!!! :super:

Everything after 2000 is restricted by law(186 mph). Right, So go back to 99. First year Hayabusa. UNRESTRICTED.

Speed is just one part of the all-round bike picture. I don't really care if something else is faster, just like I am sure most of you are. I have a very well rounded sport bike that was affordable & comfortable. 90% of riders only push the limits rarely (if they live long). It is interesting to speculate though.
