So, what is the fastest bike NOWDAYS?

Hey, don't leave out the "Boss Hoss" for most HP. What other bike will light up that huge rear tire at 70mph on throttle alone?

I really would like to have a Boss Hoss just to play with! But it would take up an entire stall in the garage.

Not on top end!
But nobody really does 180 mph when racing. Only time anyone will do that kind of speed is at a land speed record comp... Or maybe once or twice a year on the hwy for 15 seconds. Therefore top end dont count if the zx10 "can" beat a zx14 in a drag race.

I seen them race before so i know what im saying. Im talking about stock bikes though.

Mine as far as I know, I havent been beaten yet. And until I am.

Thats my story and Im sticken to it

I understand your position, but I am talking the fastest stock bike period! Which seems to be the Y2K bike, I know it is not mass produced but it is stock and street legal!:beerchug:

has anyone SERIOUSLY PROVEN the speeds of the Y2K or is it still all just talk? I'm shocked to see it's LOW HP. a turbo busa can hit that - yeah , but that is not stock, I know :)

I smoked a Y2K bike the other day, did a nice wheelie at the start, busa eats other bikes in 2nd gear, im not sure if he gave it all he had but I really caught up and destroyed him, by the time i was in 4th gear i had really pulled away.

Sorry your info is wrong the Busa and the B-King will eat the Max and leave it for dead. Like they said with a pro rider and traction spray on the track they could not touch the 9s in the 1/4. Also the top end speed on the Max is set to cut out at 135mph, unless the computer reads a full on drag run then it will give you an extra 10 mph over that.

i know the answer to this question, but were any of you guys there the day cycle world and dale walker brought out the new v-max to sac raceway? well, i was.......... they used dale walker (?) to run the bike because he tested the original v-max back in the day from what i understand. i dont know the mans history or any of that, and i mean this with all due respect, but he is far from a pro rider. in fact, if i could have rode the bike that day, i GUARUNTEE the bike would have ran 9.80's, and i dont think thats a stretch by any means. not trying to brag about myself, i just happened to be there that day. i never saw a slip, but the 60's looked to be in 1.8x range without a hint of the front end lifting. that tells me that the average guy probably has a better chance of going quicker on a stock v-max than a stock busa, 14, etc.

the price tag would keep me away from buying one personally, but i definitely dig the bike. the only thing i dont like about it, is the shaft drive. that thing sounded like it wanted to EXPLODE every time it was launched. although, to it's credit, they hot-lapped the living crap out of that bike without a single problem.

and there you have it.

I read in the Guinness Book of World Records A few years back and it said that the 1999 Hayabusa went196 mph stock and was the fastest prouduction mator cycle. I havent checked lately. Also the New Vmax has 197 hp at the crank and that would be around 170 at the rear wheel and it weighs over 600 pounds. No contest with the B-King let alone the Orange and Black.:poke:

As of the 2008 edition, page 202, yes, the hayabusa is still listed as the fastest production motorcycle in the world. I just bought the 09 edition and cant seem to even find a "fastest motorcycle" in it anywhere. I guess after 8 years of naming the same bike, they must have thought that with the 186 top speed agreement, that it was pointless to keep printing it,lol.

you can buy a street-legal MotoGP Ducati Desmosedici RR replica nowadays for only $80,000. The Desmo comes with a race ECU and supposedly puts down over 200rwhp. I don't know if it's top speed restricted to 300 km/h. Even if it is, it's gotta be one of the fastest in stock/factory trim.

The MV Agustas aren't too shabby either.
For only $80,000? When you can buy a Hayabusa for $12,000.

Im really looking forward to this new r1. I have and 2006 r1 and that is a quick bike but the 2009 from the talk around town will blow everything out of the water. But for street and strip lets not all forget about the boss hoss. Its a total piece but endless power scary as sh!t. Those are the quickest at the strip.

scratch the boss hoss. what about the vrod destroyer. From the factory high 8-second capabilitys. I know someone with one and i sound like a prostock harley.

oh yes...the vrod destoyer...Its not even close to an 8 second bike when you purchase it. It's a 520lb,limited production, drag bike that has all the drag racing goodies and yet only makes a whopping 97 lbft of torque and barely gets into the 9s(and by barely, I mean a 9.98 is the best time I could find on one that wasnt further modified) all for only 3 times the price of a hayabusa that can do the same thing and still be considered a "street bike". HD....you fail again!

I haven't lost a heads up race with a wheelie bared Destroyer yet. Last racing season thier were 2 Destroyers at my strip and I handed them thier mudd cutters every time. And as for the boss hoss it is too heavy to be a threat to a Boosa at the strip.:moon:While the Hoss is smoking it's tire at 70mph the Buss is leaving the station:poke:
