Something to carry stuff

I am looking for a more secure way to carry stuff than the little black bag that affixes to my seat (temporarily). It has become a pain to have to carry this into stores when I stop for groceries on the way to/from work, and I want something that will carry some odds and ends, stays on the bike permanently, and is secure (lockable and hard to remove).

Ideas?

I never ride 2 up, if that is a consideration.

Here's my idea. If it were me, I'd go down to my local Yamaha shop and buy one of those $90 trunks and bolt it to my homemade rack. I forgot the brand, but they are readily available at scooter shops and on eBay. They are about the size to fit a helmet. They seem like the perfect size for what you are needing. They lock, they are waterproof, and they aren't too big to look foolish on a grocery-getter Hayabusa.

Yeah.. Shad, that's the brand I couldn't remember. They are relatively inexpensive and come in several sizes.
