Good point lot boy We had a fellow spring basher get one of those rides in a copter 2yrs ago. He went straight when he should have gone left at the top of the straight in front of the hotel. Ended up fine but #### happens fast if your pushin it at the gap.
That was scary. My wife was was the second on scene along with Hooken and was sure the rider was dead. By the time I got there he was breathing normally. The only medical people there were myself, Kim and a doctor who came up from the gas station, no equipment no nothing. It took 45 minutes for the local volunteer people to get there and another hour for the chopper.
Lucilly, all ended well.
Good thread though. THis kind of thing needs to be emphasised alot.

that place is thick with cops always--i have seen video of them sitting in trees and radio ahead bike color ect for tickets- they have no love for sportbikes on the TN side of deals gap-
Lot Boy, could you give me and the other first timers to the gap your recommendation of gear to wear for that time of year? you know, mesh or leather ? Also, either in this thread or the bash thread, a discussion on minimum safety gear may be a good topic. I myself feel naked without pants and jacket , boots, helmet and gloves. I know most of the busa riders who have been on the org. for any length of time wear gear, but I wonder about some of the new busa owners and the riders of other types of bikes that will be riding with us. What do you think?
wish all of you safe ride ...iam looking for gear it hard to find.. i would love to have sum leather for the first timers to the gap.. your recommendation for leather advice..would be great???

Take a look at newenough.com on the web. Great people to do business with and there prices are the best. The have some Teknic leather jackets on the closeout specials for $99. I bought one and love it. They are very helpful when it comes to information regarding size and fit. They also had the Teknic leather pants for around $175. Hope that gives you some help.
