Had my Jet-ski's being winterized at my local dealer which is also the same dealer I bought my bike from.  They have sitting on the floor an 08 Black/Orange that has been there 3 weeks already.  So while I was waiting for them to pull the ski's out, I was bs'ing with the finance manager and seeings how I have the bike for sale, asked him what he'd give me toward the 08.

Now with a stickker on the bike of $11,999.00, the best he could do on mine for trade was $6,000.

In all honestly, that may be the best deal you'll get on an '03...I've got an '03 as well and whenever I toss around selling it, I think I'd be lucky to get $6k...

beautiful bike ya got there bud, the grass is not greener!

You have a nice looking piece of machinery. If you really considering it you could probably do much better selling then going in straight cash.

I don't know how far you are from Charlottesville, VA but there is a guy there Jarmin Cycles who has the best deals and really gives top dollar for trades. I will plug him every time we did everything for my trade over the net and he honored his deal. In fact he was selling them so cheap the local stealership was kidding about buying them from him and still making money when he sells them.

I've heard the same of Jarmin Cycles...funny that dealership name keeps popping up...

Jarmins Cycles is a great place. I looked at several Bikes liters and all. I saw him in cycle trader. He gave me like 2 G's more than any dealership on the beach. He did it all over the net I was driving back to Missouri I dropped off my trade in and on my way back Picked my baby up. I mean it is a three hour drive but I was on the Busa so who cares I could have bought in MO and drove it back. I did realize on the ride up I definitely needed to trade in my other bike.

The bike you have is a collector, dog. I'd hold on to that 'til they had to pry my cold, dead hands off the throttle.

;)

I know it sucks, Scott. I had to check a couple blue book values for some insurance work I'm about to have done and for an '03 the trade value is $5115 ($5310 for the Anniversary) and retail value is $7390 ($7525 for the Anniversary), so he probably thought he was giving you a great deal.

You should always try selling right out. If the dealer is going to give you 6k best believe they are going to try and get the high sevens or more. I am going to keep my 01 because like the previous statement it will prob. be worth a lot years to come.

My intentions are to sell it outright, I just thought I'd run it by him while I was already there anyways. Needless to say I was a bit shocked. Honestly, I'm not sure I even want an 08, I just know I'm bored with this one and am thinking a new project might reignite that spark.

I was offered $5500 for my 05 Busa on trade for the 08 at a local dealers. And he wanted me to put new tires on it first. :-(
I'm sticking with my 05 for a while till I see what bugs the 08 might have. I can always get a big bore kit from APE :-)
