SUZUKI WARRANTY FAILS

THE BIKE IS AT SUZUKI CYCLE SPECIALTIES 3401 WADE HAMPTON BLVD TAYLORS SC 29687 AND THIS IS WHERE I PURCHASE THE BIKE. AND I HAVE NO REASON GET ON THIS BOARD AND LIE ARE MAKE UP ANY THIS SH**T I WAS ONLY TRYING TO LET FORKS KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPEN ANT J

ANTJ
Check any Harley dealer they carry Thunder Press Newspaper which is free and in the adds they have a couple of good Lawyers that deal with motorcycle issues and that is where you might start, sounds to fishy about your problem and don't listen to some of the bad posting about your problem some people like to start Sh*t,anyways good luck.

When I took delivery of my Busa, I asked the service technician if they had reported any problems with fuel cutouts and soforth.
He said that none were reported but went on to tell me to be carefull what I do to my bike because Suzuki was denying warranty claims due to a large number of failures due to drag racing.

Antz.. A good mechanic can tell if you have been racing (street or strip) it and the other side's lawyer will hand your as* to you on a platter with the mechanics testimony.

Ask Johnnycheese how he tells a bike has been abused.

If you're sure you havn't been abusing it then I say kick Suzi's as* about it. You're action will help us all. Does South Carolina have a "small claims court" where any citizen can walk in and file a complaint without a lawyer? In Penna we do and it works great. Just be sure you're right then go ahead.

Whatever you do, don't just whine about it. Either shut up or do something about it.

Good Luck.

Lyle, even if you *have* been drag racing, the burden of proving you have lies with Suzuki.

Just because something looks likes it's been raced will not hold up as proof in court.

Something's fishy here...i do a lot of warranties on suzuki's and this sounds like a warranty problem and should have no problems getting authorizaton from suzuki...either the dealer u r dealing with does not know how to handle the issue or u r not being honest about how it happened !
Suzuki has one of the best warranties out there .
I have personally replaced clutch plates under warranty on goodwill terms just to keep the customer happy !!

Oh so no more to post Antj?
I thought something was not right.
I have been around too long nice try.
If you do have a problem I have several times on this board told how to get real action.

To JC and others: ANTJ story appears to be for real. Maybe you guys just scared him off, with the doubts. Have a Busa myself, that I dragrace, so was concerned enough to call the dealer mentioned, by ANTJ. There is a bike in service dept. with scattered clutch, and hole in the case as well. .......................... ...Tech, I talked to, said bike was already on its 2nd chain, and rear tire, in under 4000 mi. Dealer may have not "lobbied" real hard for customer. They told me Suzuki wasn't going to warranty it, due to the suspected drag racing issue, mentioned earlier in this thread. ...As hard as I, and a lot of others, run this bike, this may be something to watch for, even if it hasn't happened to anyone else, yet. ANTJ may have just the first one unlucky enough to have this happen... ...To JC: You already know what I have been doing with clutches, already. I'll drop you an e-mail, direct, after this is posted.

Thanks for calling I was going to but we are soo busy.
It sounds like something is up 2 chains and tires in 4000 miles I ride mine hard and I still think that something is not adding up.
I agree that if you are racing to do what I and others I race with and check you clutch periodiclly.I know that ZX11 had a weak one.
So far mine looks great.I beleive that if the dealer and the customer had a better relationship he might not be soo mad.
I still believe that there is more to the story than it blowing up.If I have time I might try calling them but They might be getting heat as it is.Got your e-mail I think you will be surprised

To JC: Was surprised. Thanks. Yes, dealer / customer relationship can make a big difference, on how case is presented to Suzuki, and the outcome. Having had a shop from 1980 to 1992, I can see both sides of situation. I just had a battery replaced under warranty, that wasn't holding a charge strong enough to crank, if bike sat a few days. Had bike since April, 1999. Battery replaced in 24 hrs, at no cost. :)

Well if you toast two chains in 4000 miles and waste two tires in the same time frame, just how do you do that. Tires I can understand, but two chains.

Tell me you are not beating the Sh*t out of a bike doing that.

Do they warranty Motocross bikes - NO they dont.

Just because you spend $10,500 doesn't make you too smart if you subject a bike to extreme abuse and don't check your clutch when you have smoked the other parts of the drivetrain.

Would this same person buy a MX bike and not clean the airfilter and try to claim for a new motor when the bottom end pukes a rod if they were sold with a warranty.

You cant make stupid people smart, they stay that way.

There are a certain percentage of people who think the world and big companies owe them something, get a life - if you subject your bike to abuse you need to keep up with a higher level of service.

2 chains in 4000 miles, really!

The dealers are just regular people trying to make a living.

This is not McDonalds where the customer is always right.

Well ANTJ how do you waste two chains in 4000 miles?

Bad chain and Suzuki is the big bad wolf?

what would happen if you were drag racing and missed a shift going from first to second...........? The shift missed was at redline............

Rev limiter should have held rpm down. I had after market, adjustable limiter (on drag bike) that would keep rpm down, even with full throttle, in neutral. I don't know that I would want to try that with OEM limiter.

To Kawabuser: To clarify, bike was on 2nd chain, and tire, at 4000 miles. Had not actually worn out 2 chains and tires, in 4000 miles. I would be more concerned, as to why, specifically, clutch let go. A lot of people drag race these bikes. With the coming of turbos, and 7 x 17 MH slicks, I would be looking to make clutch stronger. ANTJ may have been the first to scatter a clutch, that we know of, but may not be the last. Early GS1100 Suz, and 84 Ninja had similar problem.

You have the legal right to reclaim your property and consult other Suzuki dealerships to provide you w/ warranty work. Reading your description of what happened I would make sure that the dealership that denied you warranty service did so in writing. Even if they changed their mind and said that they would replace parts free under warranty I would seek out another dealer as you have lost faith and confidence to receive any service from that particular dealer. You can copy what you wrote on this site as documentation of what happened as well as make copies of any estimates you have been given and other documents relating to this case. A recorded history of events is necessary in a court of law, even if it is one sided. A one sided story is better than no story and will help you remember details you might forget come any court days that might be far into the future. When you explain to the dealership in a professional manner that you will take actions to ensure your rights under the law and retrieve your property I am sure they will try and discourage you or claim you will get nowhere. They might also mention that their team of million dollar lawyers will squash your petty claim. Just stick to your guns and record all events and transactions from the time of failure until today and ride it out.

Good Luck and let us here at Hayabusa.org know what happened!!!!!

c.dolan no they have not ran me off i am out of town. but thanks for your input seem s like jc is a know it all!! he be the frist one i e-mail when all of this is over lol lol have a nice to all ANTJ!!!!!

c.dolan, I am only reading what I read.

Stock Hayabusa. There are others out there who flog their bikes everytime out and with mods to raise the power.

GS1100 clutch baskets were prone to coming apart as the rivits would loosen, billet baskets were the answer on those motors. The stock GS1100 would have its clutch baskets rattling with no motor mods. I still own a GS1100. And the internals are not wearing a OEM basket, ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I am not being the devils advocate just to me two chains and tires sounds like we like doing a lot of holeshots, and you should expect a little problem the type of use the bike sees.

If you ride a MX bike in a gravel pit it will tear up it's rear tire soone than if you ride in the sand.

Remember last spring and there was a member whose tranny locked up and dumped him, he was on a new Busa and was lucky not to be hurt.

I hope everything work out, but you are not going to tell me 2 chains in 4000 miles is normal wear and tear. If the bike is stock and the dealer is a jerk about the warranty I would be at DMV.

I also realize the posts intent is to announce a potential problem for others.
Did he tell the dealer he was racing the bike when buying chains and tires? Like JC put it we are hearing up front of a problem and it comes with a side story of tires and chains, I would have left that part out at the dealership knowing that it is an unusual example of wear items. C.dolan are there any billet Busa baskets out there yet (MTC?)

Welcome back Antj,
I see you posted again with no details .
what gives?
Yes you may think I am a know-it all,but I have seen the stuff too many times before. all I am asking is some facts and you have yet to provide some.
Yes the bike is stock, and the clutch exploded.
Did you ever have the bike serviced or ever lube and adjust chain (documented)
Why was the chain replaced?
Why hasn't the srvice rep been out?
These are all valid questions,I know your pi**ed but you put fear in everyone on the site with no facts.Just it exploded and I don't abuse.
I have warranty clutches brake pads chain tires just about every part of the bike in my 20years but there better be a cause.
This is why the red flag has been thrown up by me.And yes I will help anyway possible but I need the facts .
