And the water czar isn't paid to make sure that reservoirs are full, he is paid to manage water. There is no way for any human to guarantee that reservoirs are full if there isn't rain and/or snow melt to fill them. Of course if trump said that he'd keep them full, you would believe him. While their own president doesn't pay the very same taxes they insist the rich should. President Biden paid $334 in taxes last year.

Two different figures here. The $146,629 represents the Biden’s tax liability, the amount owed and needing paid for the year, and the $334 represents the liability minus the amount that had already been deducted from the paychecks, which I’m going to guess was $146,295.
The Bidens paid their share. I take it that TallTom doesn’t do his own taxes.

Bottom line is the republican party led by Trump has been voted in and there is nothing you or anyone who dislikes this decision can do about it at this juncture.

What devolved the thread was placing blame above surviving. Anybody that’s been to the Pacific Palisades knows how beautiful an area it is, and a terrible shame this is. The problem is the dry windy climate with a lot of gorgeous vegetation is the perfect recipe for fires. Controlled burns? Yeah in northern Cali or less populated areas.
The rebuilders will figure it out. It’s still easily worth it.
Remember, we all have our ways of communicating. Bee you’re the only one I can think of here that refrains from name calling or partisanship. It’s a good look.

You must have forgotten about this thing called covid and what it did to the stock market. It was a market that was recovering from having lost a third of it's value just 9 months earlier. That's what is called stock market jitters.

Looking at its history, it does look like it was doing pretty well when Biden took office, same as it was when trump took office from Obama. And same as trump will inherit from Biden. Truth is that the stock market has been doing pretty well for about 15 years now no matter who is president.

It appears to have come back pretty well after the huge drop during the covid pandemic, so I will stand corrected on that.

Soon we will have a few families own 99% of the assets in the USA. That should solve all of our problems. "Get off of my property" will become the chant of the security forces. And us little people will try to escape to maybe Canada? Maybe Canada will build a wall to keep us out.

This may seem far fetched, but I'm old enough to remember when there was almost no homelessness in the USA and a family could live off of one paycheck. Now we have a minimum wage that won't even pay for food, let alone a place to live.
