The issues of the world......

The "Carolina Squat"...illegal now in Va and a few states, as they are unsafe from almost no visibilty.
They also almost all have those electronic exhaust cut-outs in front of the catalytic converters, and have to constantly stab the gas pedal and make as much racket as possible...and they sound awful, not even a 'good' sounding loud.
I think the fine should be a firing squad...remove this stupidity from the gene pool...

Silly kids nowadays! In my day it was glass packs and cubic inches! Usually with a lifted rear so we could fit 15 inch wide tires back there.

Which we needed. Because burnouts were super popular flexes of the aforementioned cubic inches.

See
I'm of the same upbringing.
This latest generation...they have run out of ideas...so much so that they squat trucks, and just as bad, have combined the sag with skinny jeans...
That is the future...THAT
Things you hoped were just the worst fad to date...but they have endured.
I still seriously say that the begining of the end, started with the first Fast and Furious movie.
Then those retards had children...who squat trucks and sag skinny jeans...

I have come to respect the efforts put into Japanese smaller displacement power plants. It's stunning how they've learned to manage forced air modifications. I played around with turboing some Miatas. Lots of fun. Pat a mechanical engineer that lived about an hour away seriously got into making boosted power. He was pushing 600 HP out of a 2.0 4 cylinder Miata engine. In a Miata, that's a wild ass ride.

So I respect some of what F&F has fostered. It's a genre of enthusiast who have pushed the limits in what was readily available mechanical technology for that group.

F&F put fast imports on the map, that were already really fast, and yes did grow the market into something huge.
I'm talking about the sub-culture of big wings, fart mufflers, and 'cold' air intakes, and now mom and dad's economy hand me down becomes a rocket...when in reality it's slower from wing drag, hot air intake, and less back pressure.
A whole generation of idiots.
Those that belive Vin Diesel can adjust his air/fuel ratio on the laptop...During the sub ten second race, which helps him win.
Oh, and a Big tachometer...got to have the Big tach on the dash!
lmao

Hi. If one of them taped a coke bottle on the wing every one on the street would have one taped on there wing on the street

Hey, I resemble that remark. Not the Carolina squat part but I do have cutouts on my Firebird. I just know when to use them, only when no one else is around. I got a wild hair one day and just had to have them but I very rarely open them up.

I know that LT or LS engine's cam, timing, throttle response, and flow all sound better straight piped than a stock 4.8/5.3

My friend has factory cut outs on his Mustang......and they are programmable so they can be set to open at certain times of day as to not piss off the neighbors.....

When he stops by in the summer (it's his summer car), he backs in at 1000 and it's nice and quiet......he leaves an hour or so later and it sounds pretty nasty......

I think Ford had a great idea doing that.....

Yeah my corvette has the same thing. Sport mode they open at rpm above 2500 while under acceleration and in track mode they are always open.

He can program his to open in any mode and at specific times of day...it has a thing called "good neighbor" mode to keep it quiet at certain hours....

But just like your 'vette, it is open in sport and track mode as well....

I often wondered why Dodge didn't do this with their Hellcat powered vehicles....

With the coming of spring, all the world issues seem so far away....

While out walking this morning, I listened to the birds all singing and making their noises.....it was pretty serene...

I watched ducks flying over and even saw my first spring raptor (some sort of brush hawk) out patrolling looking for breakfast....

Right now the temperatures are perfect....it drops to minus digits at night (last night was -15'C) then into the plus digits during the day (today it's supposed to be 7'C) which is perfect for spring snow melt to not be too fast or slow.....we still have around 2 foot of snow on the level with 4 foot snowbanks in some places...

There is a lot of gravel, sand and salt on the roadways and I've noticed there are a lot (a lot) of potholes and broken pavement which will make motorcycling suck when it's time to ride....
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was just outside doing a little work wearing only a sweater and toque verses a bulky jacket and winter boots so it felt light and free.......and it was nice to take the truck to the touchless car wash to get all the road salt and grime off it....

Spring and parts of fall are my favorite times of year.....

Toque eh? Is that what we call a knit cap or hat?

noun

  1. a woman's small hat, typically having a narrow, closely turned-up brim.
    • HISTORICAL
a small cap or bonnet having a narrow brim or no brim.
    • CANADIAN
a close-fitting knitted hat, often with a tassel or pom-pom on the crown.

Does yours have a tassel or pom -pom on the crown?
Nope,

I guess they are also called "watch caps" but we've always called them a toque.....

Kind of how the American military refers to their hats as "covers"

These are my favourite time of the year as well........................but for many Canadians, it's getting harder and harder to simply slow down and smell the roses, or appreciate the small things in life. With only 24hrs left in a day, most Canadians are working multiple jobs, and often 24hrs is simply NOT enough to live on anymore in Canada.

I do wish instead of spending millions and billions abroad on other countries, we'd keep it here in Canada for those who earn it to enjoy it.
Sadly, our politicians don't work hard enough to know what it's like to EARN money these days, and their spending habits reflect this at the cost of taxpayers.

It's time for the status quo across the world to change, so those working have time to smell the roses.................while those who aren't, or choose NOT TO no longer have the time to do that.

You live in an especially expensive part of Canada..........and it might get more expensive shortly....

Greed.....that's the word......greed......everyone out there is in it to make a buck and it doesn't matter who's back they stand on to make it either. Real Estate developers are some of the worst people to have ever breathed oxygen.....

As much as politicians make us crazy, they are a necessary evil and we need them.....once you've been to a few failed states or countries which have devolved, having a strong government is a welcome thing.....having scheduled trash pick up, a recycling program, clean running water out of the tap, sewer system, public transit and the list goes on and on.....this is why immigrants vie so hard to come to a place like this over the misery they live in and one we take for granted.

Every developed country has an obligation to assist other countries in need in order to be part of a global system, that costs money......we respond to disasters in other countries as well as strife......in this way our Canadian brand is pushed out to the world.....often times this is returned 2 fold in the form of good will, immigration, investments, trade and the sense that if we are in need, other countries will come to our aid.....our western wild fires had Australian, New Zealand and American fire fighters being involved amongst other nations.....and we in turn send our people to help them.

My friend who is a financial guru also spent 35 yrs in the military and when he is ever questioned about his military pension and the usual "it must be nice" he reminds them that everyone has a choice and they have to live with that choice.....he chose to join the military and all that comes with it where others in his hometown chose to stay there because they didn't want to get haircuts and have people tell them what to do.......they are still there working and he is retired "smelling the roses." I'm in the same boat......when I (and he) first joined our military we didn't join for the pay because it was poor, we joined for the adventure and pride in our country.

Not everyone has the same choices in life...........................While I agree that many must live with their choices in life, you must understand that not everyone has the same or all the choices in life.

And, Yes, Life isn't fair we all know this.....................................Some people are forced into positions, or simply have to take whats available at the time and make it work. To think, those people deserve what they get is just as bad or as fair as those who say "must be nice" to you.

Most people make the best out of the cards they are dealt in life, but there is a select few who abuse and manipulate the system...............and those people should be treated like the criminals they are and put behind bars for fraud.

As for other countries, NO Canada does NOT have an obligation to help other countries in this world deal with the problems they or their politicians have caused. While it's a nice thing to do, during these economic times we need to keep our money here helping those who are forced to pay it.

I completely disagree wholeheartedly with that statement....however, we are fortunate enough to live in a country where it is possible for this to happen....I'm talking humanitarian aid and disaster relief mostly....not funding wars or conflict.

There is no way I can make you change your stance in the same way there is no way you can change mine.....so in essence it make little sense to continue to try.

I'm not sure of your out of Canada experiences but I am sure of mine.....

"Zero Critical Reasoning": Employers Say GenZ "Toxic" For Companies

6356e437ffcac3001876fb88_80-.webp

A new report has found that 68% of small business owners say Gen Z employees are the "least reliable," while 71% say they're most likely to have a mental health issue in the workplace. One of the employers surveyed spoke of Gen Z's "absolute delusion, complete lack of common sense, and zero critical reasoning or basic analytical skills," according to the Freedom Economy Index report conducted by PublicSquare and RedBalloon this month.

Less than 4% of those surveyed said Gen Z was the generation that most aligns with their workplace culture, while 62% said Gen Z's were most likely to create division and toxicity in the workplace. Another employer surveyed said the generation is "expecting promotions for simply showing up every day."

Soft c0cks we aussies call em, but what can you expect from a generation that have been over protected and smothered in media that tells them they are the most important people on the planet. 6 hours a day staring into a mobile phone doesn't help either.
