Personally I think if you go looking for so called ghosts you will find them (Not for Me) Also I don't think ghost exist however I do believe evil spirits exist and they imitate the dead. I also believe in Angels too. As interesting as this subject is I wouldn't mess with this kind of stuff. Sometimes you get what you seek or should I say that if one continues to knock on the door (looking for ghosts) something will answer. Just my two cents.....

The oija board. I had one when I was young and it scared the daylights out of us. I think someone threw it away but it did seem to move on it's own. Anyone know much about these things?

I've gone on lots of different "adventures" with my son, my daughter and their friends. I'm always the one who's gotta find the place and lead the group. They all know that I'm the only one that wont panic and I'm always able to find my way back home. They've always been late night (after 12PM) excursions that sometimes last until the morning. Some would just be scared out of their mind but most of the times it was self induced by the environment. There are still times when I run into their friends and they'll ask when's the next adventure. As scary as it sometimes gets they always want to do it again.
Cheasapeak, upstate NY, different places in NJ including Cape May, and Pensylvania all have some great places

My son is 2, I have created a "Adventure" folder on my computer, to put info in for adventures, when he gets a little older. Good Stuff

lived in a house with a ghost....
she would open doors and turn on lights in the middle of the night....it sounds harmless, but waking at 2am with all thelights on and all the doors open is pretty creepy..
the house was originally a small house and had a large addition added, basically 3 rooms lined up side by side with a long hallway connecting them all.
my German sheppard would sit just outsde my door, in the hallway and "guard" us while we slept.........
one night i heard footsteps coming down the hall, i looked out my door to see who was walking down the hall and nobody was there...
the footsteps passed my door, and both my dog and myself watched as the footsteps passed but nobody was there.
now you can say i imagined it, but how do you fool a dog? my dog heard the footsteps too, i saw my dog track the sound from right to left as if something was there.

Did this "behavior" vary, or was it the same each time. A "Residual" haunt seems to have no "intelligence" behind it, just the same spooky script over and over again.
The group I'm working with just investigated a Residual Haunt in a Church, Choir sings but no one inside.

Oh, Don't misunderstand. I don't want one, I would just like to know the history behind them. On second thought, Maybe not.

Let me add this to the conversation; As I said earlier, evil spirits imitate the dead so those who had died were probably exposed to these evil spirts while they were living therefore traits were learned by these spirits and repeated. When one goes looking for a departed person in a dwelling and calls for them the evil spirits sometimes answer. Evil spirits never die, they either remain in the dwelling or move on. The human soul either goes to Heaven or to hell, the soul doesn't remain here on earth. What is important in my opinion is to understand what one can get when they seek out these spirits/demons acting like ghosts. The danger is if one of these evil spirits/demons decide to stick with you and remain in your life. These spirits are not from God but are from hell and thats not good. Being that they are evil you don't want one of these things any where around you. Don't go looking for them and you will be alright. Seek God and you will prosper under Christ. A good book to read is; "A Divine Revelation of Hell". by Mary K Baxter. Also look up "23 minutes in hell" by Bill Wiese There you will see how nasty these evil spirits can be. You can google these books and also see them on youtube......det45
From a Theological Perspective, I literally pray you are correct. A Bad life is one thing, an eternal afterlife stuck around a haunt site is truly scary.

OK, One more. My wife's mom died several years ago. One night while my wife was working her little dog became very restless and started whining. She never acted this way before and I didn't know what her problem was. She jumped up in my lap and was looking behind me. I saw her head move in an upward motion like someone was coming up behind me and she was watching them. I sure didn't want to turn around but you know you gotta see if there is something there. Well, nothing was there, I guess. I really think my motherinlaw was still hanging around and the dog could see her. Won't make me see it any other way. Call me crazy. Now if I ever get to the bash everyone will say, Oh, that's shadetree. Let's go home.

pretty much the same, over and over....the only difference was the time, sometimes we would come home 10pm or so and see all the lights on and all the doors open, and sometime it would done while we were sleeping.
never felt scary, or like i was in danger.....maybe it was because we were told it was "the old lady that lived there before us" so it felt un-threatening.
a friend of mine has a ghost or demon that they see....and is violent, they will wake up feeling a great pressure on thier body and unable to breath, and stuff like that.
