The News

I just love it ,
a bunch of kids go out to play
and all of them innocently call
each other by racial slurs with
a totally straight face ! ! !

None of them have a clue
anything is different about
the other except one is darkest and one
is lightest and the rest are in between !

They are kids ,
of course they are learning
by looking and listening but in the end ,
what they are having for dinner is much more important .

That is how it should be all through life .

I probably had a better life than they did. We built the first house in that area at the time. It was in the boonies because we had horses. They never had a basketball. We always used .mine. Their clothes were more raggedy than mine. My mom always made us all meals. They loved PB&J like I did. I never really knew where they lived because I was never allowed to leave past the 3rf light down the road. They lived somewhere past that. Lol.

They spoke I guess we have to call it like Ebonics. It was English but not like mine. But there was more of them than me so I learned theirs. I learned enough to yell at them during basketball. We all laughed at each other every game. They must had TV because they named me Tommy the Tiger and did the Frosted Flakes song
He's Gggrreeaaat.

I never asked what school they went to. I wasn't in school at that time. I never saw them in my school when I started but that was after they started sending us to schools that made no sense to us. I was sent to schools that I didn't know anyone, and they all went somewhere else. My older brother got sent to whole other school.

People just have to start learning how to get along with each other..and look at people as people and not a different race or religion.

I read yesterday where the indigenous people of Winnipeg Canada want street names to not be changed as it is a memory of what was and not to be repeated, the leader said to change names on the street signs is to erase history and history erased is soon forgotten....this made sense to me somehow.

This whole thing happening right now is reminiscent of being in Kindergarten when all the kids are learning to interact socially...

I'm pretty sure we didn't get a gold star next to our name if I hit another child or knocked over their block house they built.

It's sad that the animals do not realize the world has turned for colonial era hatreds. What NASCAR did yesterday, inspired by a small-minded idiot, was incredible. I worked with NASCAR in Richmond on a proposed project and they are totally opposite of their fan reputation. They are a progressive company and they hire some of the best minority talent they can. Many people don't realize that NASCAR is hurting. The perception of races being redneck parties has trapped them into a being iconic of a dramatically shrinking audience. NASCAR even worries a lot about not being respected worldwide by motorsports fans because they are seen as a redneck smash up derby. Many people who like racing watch NASCAR on TV and won't go to a race because of the fans there. NASCAR was(is?) looking at closing a lot of tracks and becoming an insignificant curiosity. I personally love NASCAR but have stayed away because of the fan base.

What those drivers did yesterday was save their sport. No doubt most of them felt what happened to Bubba was wrong but it's the sport they were worried about. All those sponsors painted on those cars are looking at their operations from top to bottom and trying to present the most inclusive faces they can. Sponsoring a racist sport is not going to cut it because that only gets them a small, quickly shrinking market share.

What happened yesterday was spontaneous, but it was years in the making. NASCAR was looking for a seam to step out of the draft of racism, they saw an opening yesterday and they took it.

We also didn't get hit for this happening either..there has to be a balance...right now there is no balance.

Sadly the point was made then taken away by people who are just out causing problems.

A loud noise gets your attention, constant loud noises become annoying...

It appears a thread has disappeared. I think there is more to this event that we will learn. It seems awfully "convenient"
constant loud noises become annoying...

You've just summed up the last 30 years of our nation. Some groups are constantly telling other groups THEY are the problem. They are like constantly whining children. Even the most patient mom, will eventually want to just beat their butts and send them to their rooms. It reminds me of my brother. He never cared for good attention. He strived to get bad attention. My dad eventually got tired of trying to discipline him politely. I'll never forget the moment in my life that my brother finally pushed dad to far. Dad punched him in the jaw with a right hook and dropped him like a rock.

Dad gathered him up, and said if you want it worse, it's coming. My brother left home to college then. Peace returned to the home.

Keep whining. Somebody is gonna give you a right hook.

Not quite where I was going with that statement...

This thread can have some merit if it sticks to what it was intended-"news" and not all racially related.

All that time spent in isolation and social distancing basically thrown away. Many countries share this due to the ongoing protests, and not just protests regarding BLM but the Hong Kong independence protests as well.

Well I didn't start the thread and it's initial content was about All of the marketing that's inherently about race.

I'm perfectly content on discussing honeybees and Aurbus A380s. If that is the intended content of NEWS.

Hopefully someone won't find those topics too racially driven.

American Airlines is also contracting their fleet of jets and floating yet more debt to survive. At 12%. That's desperate money there. I predict they will be BK within 2 years. They have become an abysmal airline.

You indeed did not start the thread...however, the racial tone has been present throughout by many people.

What does a thread call "news" mean to anyone...it's about current news and shockingly enough, there is more going on in the world than protests....

We need to light a fire under Suzuki's tail and get some gen 3 news.....

On so many levels Sir you are the eternal optimist! Lol!

I've given up on a Gen 3. I think there is too much $ in the liter bikes for them. I'm actually giving thought to just cashing out my chyt and finding a different way to enjoy my efforts in life. I haven't ridden in almost 2 years now.

American Airlines is a racist symbol. Joking!

I thought AA merged/bought United didn't they? Anyway it's going to be 2 years before those planes are full again assuming it happens at all. I'm told all of the domestic carriers are looking at completely new models for running airlines. Read an article that said business travel is going the route of retail stores (people just don't shop in person anymore). To me this is scary. People are just figuring out they don't need entire market sectors over night. What's a business to do, better stay on your toes and be flexible.

I hear that.....bikes such as the Hayabusa and ZX14R are kind of niche bikes so maybe their time has come and gone....Honda was doing pretty good with their Blackbird but gave up on that and never made a hyperbike again. Although the mew CBR1000RR is pretty potent..

I don't know the future but see super and turbo charging to be part of it, Kawasaki perfected the supercharger and aftermarket has perfected the turbo charger...

I honestly think if I had a larger parcel of land, I'd probably buy a mini tractor and basically live on that...I already spend a lot of time on my lawn tractor which cost more than my Hayabusa did ironically enough...
