**The OFFICIAL TEAM GIXXER smacktalk thread**

That lap time is nothing short of IMPRESSIVE  Not only that, but to have a session with multiple 1:38 times...

I'm going to have to eat Wheaties and take Geritol all winter long to even aspire to catch that. Even called from SD to congratulate you, that is on a different level.

If I was your Dad (and I'm old enough to be) I'd be proud as hell of you!!!

Alright folks! The video is here. Keith, the chase bike is Travis Hutson who was kind of pushing/pulling me around all weekend. I didn't know he was videoing until the end of the day. This is the last session of the day (the record setting one :) ).

While I am still not FAST by any means, you can clearly see how SILLY FAST Travis is the way he just runs back up on me without hesitation!!

Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show  15:05 is the start of the 1:37.8 lap...

Jay says he is not fast at 1:37. To put Jay's modesty into perspective, here is a video of racer Marcel Irnie. Looks like he is around those times:

Yea I noticed that. To HIS defense, traffic slows him up a good bit.. Also, even if times are similar, he looks WAY faster!!

You know, that's inside the lap time of the Slowest rider in the AMA races last year.....

Jeez man, Travis was making you look slow or something :moon:

IN TRUTH, that was SMOKIN ...record lap had traffic in it, too..and the inside line into the chicane no less...but you could tell you put your head down....

What kind of bike is Travis riding? He was accelerating down the straight with and harder than you. Was great to watch his line and your line...

I gotta study that vid some more....

He really was. He is just SILLY FAST!! Yea that was a drag race to the museum and I WASN'T going to lose

I gotta ask him what he's got done to his bike. I know he is like -1/+2 gearing or something but DANG if that sucker doesn't pull hard. It's a 2006 R1.

I'm pumped he got this video. This will be the study video from now on!

Ok, so after getting humiliated by Jay's new laptimes at Barber, this last weekend I rode with another organization (Midwest Cafe Racer Assoc) at the SPANKING new racetrack at the National Corvette Museum (NCM) Motorsports Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky (just across the interstate from the Corvette Assembly Plant). The track is newly finished, and this was the inaugural motorcycle track weekend. A lot was going on, there was a SCCA event on the skidpad, and they ran a 5K and 10K on the track after we finished. Here is some video of the last session of Intermediate on Sunday:

Looks like a lot fun minus pit out. Thats weird how far you have to go to get to the blend line...

And, let me tell you what, on pit out, when you go around that right hander, its where all the gravel/dust gets thrown from the track, and twice my rear got twitchy just riding thru it...while there's not much they can do about pit out, they are going to fix pit in so it's two turns earlier and is NOT in the race line...

Well...TEAM GIXXER (-) spent the last weeked of the Season at Road Atlanta. It was C-O-L-D in the mornings, but the sunrises were EPIC. Jay came on Saturday only and I was there both days. There will be video posted. Running down the back straight nose-to-nose with Jay at 170 indicated was... interesting...

On Saturday PM, the directors wife came up to me and said someone reported that I was misting something off my bike...After taking the plastics off and looking everywhere and not finding anything, I happened to look at the bottom of the rear shock - CRAP - It's leaking oil...right onto my rear tire...either that would have tossed me, or when the shock emptied that would have likely tossed me....So now I have a brand new $700 JRI rear shock (I haven't gotten around to telling the wife about it yet..)...

Oh, did I mention that I eventually ended up with the best time of the weekend? :) :moon:

Great Season guys. Set a new PB, nobody got hurt, and have greatly enjoyed my TEAM GIXXER antics with Charlie, Jay and anyone else that has showed up...Now all we can do until next Spring is SMACKTALK...
