Finally finished up my major upgrades. She is a track weapon now. Brembo master cylinder, Scott's steering stabilizer, Penske rear shock, and Traxxion Dynamics AK-20 fork kit (look real close for the yellow letter )

She looks awesome Jay!

Need to swap out to Q2s, gonna have to do that before the day... need to see if I still have the tire deal with Keith Code's school...

Shawn, have you run Q2's before or just going off of everyone's opinion that they are the best tire for a TD short of race tires?

If you haven't run them, you are in for a real treat :beerchug:

NOT RIGHT NOW!!!!! STG is on the watch list for TEAM GIXXER right now. Their prices are the same as everyone else now and Charlie just got two sets of Q2's and both rears were from the middle of 2010!!! I know if stored properly the shelf life is longer than that but it's just the principle of getting a 2 year old tire.

Bike bandit is having a sale right now. You will pay about $245 shipped for a set of Q2's which is the best price going right now.

Jay,
I haven't run them... Almost put a set on Beasie awhile ago, but changed my mind when I figured I wouldn't get decent road mileage out of them. I am looking at opinions mostly, just because they are coming from people whose opinions I can put some stock in. Not ready to run warmers, and I figure that they will at least get me through a novice season.

Sounds good. You definately do not need warmers (I still havent dropped the $3-400 for them).. Q2's would get you all the way to low 1:40's at Barber without batting an eye. I have only run the Q2's and still haven't had them slide around on me EVER, all the way up to the Advanced group (except when I got a flat )

Your wishes/expectations for what you want your track tire to do (HOLD above all else) vs. street (hold but have some mileage too) come into play. You can probably, in Novice, get maybe 2 weekends (that's 4 days) on a set of Q2's. Charlie, Jay and I can get thru an entire weekend on a set of Q2's (and maybe more on the front, but the rear is done by then). I have burned thru most of a GPA Rear in ONE DAY.

Jeez, if we are gonna keep talking up Q2's like this, Dunlop's gonna have to start sponsoring TEAM GIXXER :)

Aight, Keith... This is for you

I just took my gixxer for her first test ride with her final suspension upgrade completed. I am going to explain to you how the ole gal is handling now with a simple math equation

GIXXER + Curve = GLUE!! :moon: :moon:
