Thoughts on cruisers??

 Yeah it started off real nice with lots of opinions and an overall good discussion and took a turn for the worse...... It was violated by the Village People :banghead:

Just teasing, of course. After all, most people think all Hayabusa riders are like these folks...

before i became the proud owner of my busa i was the proud owner of honda valkyrie which to this day im gutted i got rid of . smooth 6 cylinder torque and suprisingly manuverable for there size and weight which is great as id come from sports bike and the roads here in new zealand can get quiet twisty at times. the only reason i gave the valkyrie the flick was i wanted to go fast again , but if i had to go back to a cruiser the valkyrie would be the pick for me , plus theres nothing quiet like parking up oppisite a group of harleys on the the big 6:laugh:

Well after deliberating on what and which type of cruiser I wanted to buy I ended up in typical "Me" fashion buying this to cruise

2009 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 TRD with the 6 speed manual tranny  Wanted to get a cruiser but couldnt pass up on the sweet deal I stumbled across by accident. Once I started researching I found that the Tacomas are like the hayabusas of trucks! There are sooo many mods for these things it ridiculous, everything from oversized brake kits to a factory supercharger. So I figured it was a perfect match 4me seeing how I love to mod out my toys

Hey thanks Taylor :beerchug:. I wanted a night rod I couldn't justify spending 16k on a motorcycle let alone a HD. Looked at a M109 too but this just made more sense @ the time and now I have a dependable truck that should last me a very long time and get me where I need to be no matter what mother nature has in store. I'll just keep my eyes peeled and maybe come across a nice deal on a Gen2 busa bye next winter to "cruise" on

very nice.. i have been thinking about one myself... best of luck with it

Can't compare a truck to a motorcycle, you can always throw your busa in the bed and take it where you want to ride

Make your shortbed into a longbed load up and take your show on the road

Was bored and had the day off so I decided to cruise around on my busa and hit a few bike shops Ive never been to before and I managed to take some of you guys advice and check out the Victory Line of cruisers. I really liked the Victory Hammer  Sat on it and ergonomically it felt right as far as the handle bars and controls. The dealer is gonna schedule me a test ride so we'll see how it goes.... I'm still just a little leery on the fact its a Victory and I don't know much about them or anybody that has 1??

If I was gonna get a cruiser style bike it would probably be the V-Max...does that count? I rode a Kawi Eliminator 900 back in the day...had the Ninja motor, but built like a cruiser. Very comfortable and pretty quick too.

Triumph Rocket III, can't go wrong. You can get it stripped down or ready to tour. Looks killer and has some real horse power More than double of a new Harley. Why pay the 20 percent up charge for the harley name when you can get a way better machine.

I never understood why street bike guys never liked Harleys and vice versa
I have both and they are completely different rides, both enjoyable in their own way.

a few friends of mine have them and id say they are reliable...

Yeah Squale the dealer was telling me how their tranny's are guaranteed for 100k miles :snap: That's a pretty impressive warranty IMO Just don't know how much Ooomph it has compared to the Night rod or similar sport cruiser types

id say its on par with a h-d they may have alittle more...night rod is on a different field...

My profile was down for a while due to the org bugs and has been difficult for me to post up pics and such. Now that its back to norm I can finally post up pics of my cruiser I got. Seen this bike a few years back and it made me do a double take. Im not a Harley guy per say and I didn't even know what make or brand it was until I walked up closer. All I knew was that this bike was 4me...... I wanted one but never could find a deal on 1 and life/responsibilities kept getting in the way. Finally I came across 1 at the right time for the right price and I had to pull the trigger. Been chasing em too long to let another slip through my grasp :banghead: Ive racked up a few miles on it since I got it and all I can say is that Ive received soo many compliments on it from ALL genres. Old, young, sport and HD guys cant get enough of it and I feel like a celebrity when Im out on it  Obviously it doesn't have the speed or power of my busa but its enough to keep me interested and has a nice little kick in the higher RPM's and the V-twin is a nice change of pace. Its nice to be able to pop the garage door and have options.... should I fly on the busa or cruise on the nightrod??
