Today's Action with Police Involvement at a school

I wasn't packing that night . I was the designated drinker , and Paul was the designated driver packing . I left my 1911 at home since he was packing , and I was drinking . Would love to say I pack all the time now , but working in the school districts you can't , and leaving it in the company van is a grey area no one can give a solid answer on . When I chased that guy (who by the way is in prison now) clarity was a bit lacking on my part . It was a learning experience none of us will forget .

I think there are a number of people particularily in the ZRX crowd that are former Military . I think their training gives the both a different attitude and brings experiences to a situation that would be much more dangerous to, say , me who has not. I would not know the working of an AK or M16 or any other Sort of Military weapon . I believe in home defence and my shotgun is Handy . right next to the Louieville slugger
Also up here Having a pistol is so difficult we mostly just don't have them . But if we did, stolen by a bad guy or not the owner would be in trouble as would who ever owned the AK . Don't ask . Its a sore point with a lot of us

Again, can't assume you know who is in danger...perhaps one involved in the fight needs assistance, that's my point. We can go around and around in circles with this, but I think in the end, the world is full of those that see it one way or the other. I wish more would stop to help over walking away (or pulling out a phone to record it). I really do believe those passive actions make us less civilized as a whole, and only encourage apathy for your fellow human.

I get all that you're saying, it's a risk to step in, but sometimes that's what makes a hero a hero. And a true hero, BTW, doesn't do these things for the glory, they do it because they feel it's the right thing to do, to look out for a fellow human being if they can, without the over-analysis of why, they just do

It is a Risk..... Vabs I hear what your trying to say but I also see Six’s POV

That scenario might fly in the suburbs but if your in the wrong part of town and decide to play hero it could cost you your life. If 2 are fighting there are probably more lurking and waiting for someone else to jump in. Or 1 of the 2 could think you are coming over to jump him and pull a weapon or his boy running up could see you heading towards them and think vice versa and draw his weapon or blind side you.

There’s a lot of variables to take in account and little time to weigh the odds. The moment you involve yourself in a situation you could be liable. In the process of breaking it up somebody could twist their ankle and blame it on you. There is an ambulance chaser on every corner sniffing around for a settlement

Just because 1 guy is getting the worst of it you still don’t know the whole story..... What if that guy was a pedophile and was caught watching that guy’s daughter though a window. He gave chase and put the screws to him. How do you think an enraged man would feel someone interfering with what he deems just?

There’s no cookie cutter answer but in a hostile environment/situation UNLESS you are prepared to lose your life it’s best to keep it moving and mind your business.

This guy was running around town shooting people where were the police. Guess they cant magically appear when needed???

That argument is usually made by the same people that protest and hate police.
I can't know where the police were, and I'm not making an argument. I do know evidence shows that untrained armed people do more damage than they do good. Ask the lead LEO in your area (chief of PD, Sheriff etc.) if they want untrained non-LEO's shooting people.
I don't protest "the police", but if officers are not held accountable for criminal acts, best believe I will do everything I can to ensure that they are subject to the same laws they swear to uphold.
I don't hate "the police", but I believe that some individual officers conduct themselves in a manner which brings shame on the rest, and that includes the ones who let the bad ones get by with their bullsh!t.
The term "the police" is ridiculous, all police officers aren't the same. They cover a huge cross section of humanity, just like the rest of society. They aren't exempt from human flaws, nor do I expect them to be. I do however require that they be held to a higher standard than the rest of us, with great power comes great responsibility.

I'm not untrained...and shoot better than alot of "trained" cops I've seen...I also drive better than them, lmao!

Then I hope He tells you to get a good lawyer!

I'm not Dirty Harry, shoot first, ask questions later.
I will take an ass whippin, and no one would ever know I had a pistol the whole time.
Guns are a last resort, and an equalizer.
If I pull or use mine, I'm not worried that I'm not in the right.

Whether you think you're in the right or not isn't the standard.
I agree with everything you're saying, just making a suggestion about the unclear legality of some situations.

Works out great in Movies......

Not so much in REAL life........:(

Yep
I'm well aware, and hope to never find myself in a shooting situation.
I have no ego, nothing to prove, and nothing to gain.
Only if innocent lives are at stake, and I feel I could somehow prevent something awful.

Can tell here in America we live on different ends of the planet. We’re talking about a guy running around shooting people. And you say but kill him?? ....
He’ll ya kill this guy. This isn’t the movies you don’t get to shoot the gun out of someone’s hand.
Shoot center of mass......and hope you hit a vital as many of these asshats are on some sort of drug and take a few rounds to drop them.

Yesterday was a normal ZRX guy night out for steaks / beer hosted by JM1 . When Txcanuck , and I arrived we were informed of the burglary of JM1's home .
JM1 saw the perp , and even gave chase . Bad guy got away with Laptop , Springfield custom 1911 .45 acp , and a I Pad .
The I pad was used to track the bad guy . Texas City Police were not much help in the beginning . So all evening JM1 was watching the GPS . Jody said the I pad was coming down the street now ! So I go out to look , and here comes the bad guy walking down the street 50 yards from the home .

I walked out of the garage to the light . There he is , and he stops when he sees me . Its on foot chase through the streets in the dark / night . I lose him as he rounded a corner . Bad guy was fast , and I'm not a long distance sprinter anymore . However I think I know were he ducked into for hiding . I wait a bit , and here comes Eddie Lane
on his ZRX . I jump on tell to make the block , and be ready for me to jump off if hes going slow enough .

We get back to JM1's place ( now 5 to 7 minutes have passed ) to find out the I pad still shows less than 300 feet from home . I said I know where he is .
Eddie , Paul , h2o , and I set off . JM1 gives me a nice bright Streamlight . Eddie gos to the dead end were pad is close to . I came in from behind on the other street between to homes were I lost him before . I make it nearly to eddie , and no bad guy ? F*&( is what I'm thinking .

Then out of the bushes jumps bad guy holiding a AK 47 on me saying he will blow my head off . I keep him blinded with the light , eddie turn on his high beam off the rex as well . ( I did not know were Paul or Dennis was at this time ) Bad guy says to take light off him , I wont it makes me a harder target in wide open area infront of these two homes with no tree to hide behind .

I thought fast / noticed the AK looked broken @ the barrel . So I thought air soft or paint ball FAKE AK . I looked behind him , and yelled PAUL SHOOT HIM ! ( Paul was not there I knew this ) It was my bluff to close distance ( approx 12' ) to grab the barrel of the AK .
Bad guy looked behind him , gun barrel raised up now , and I sprinted for the guy . However I didn't close enough distance .

When he realized I was coming for him he took off running with the AK . I was hot on his ass , eddie bolted on the ZRX to the next block to try and catch him as well .
Chase lasted over 1/4 mile through yards , over fences , through bushes . I gave up at the last big back yard due to when he went over the fence , and I did as well I lost him in the JUNGLE of a huge back yard . So not wanting to be jumped , and alone I came out .

Police arrived and we all did some back tracking . Found he was running in Nike sandals he lost in first yard , recovered back pack with computers / gun belonging to JM1 , Police , and I retraced my chase to find the AK 47 .

The AK 47 was REAL , and loaded . Stolen a week earlier from another homeowner . Paul was actually behind me / to my right by 40 yards , and had a 9mm on him ready .

Police dog was brought out , but after 2 hours no bad guy . Do have lots of prints though I knew he was armed most likely with the 1911 , but counted on he wouldn't know how to use it . It was going to be a hell of a fight had I caught him .

Last thing ever expected was AK 47 . Were all lucky to be alive today . Police let me snap a few pics of the AK on my phone . Ill try to get them up later today.

After further review of my pictures of the AK , and watching /learning how a AK works the SAFETY was off or in the down position .
I e mailed these pictures to a friend as I can not down load them correctly off my phone .

A few other tid bits to add . Eddie shut off his motor a few streets over to try , and hear where we were located . He said it sounded like gorillas
in the mist . With all the running through trees/shrubs , and over fences .
Yikes! You are a lucky man to be alive.

It's getting to be a wild world these days, every time I turn on the news there's a shooting or a vehicle being used to run over people. Even here in Canada the land of politeness has been exposed to terrorist acts.

Even our own terrorist Khadr is looking to get his freedom after our government was kind enough to give him $10+ million. A bonus for killing an American soldier and severely wounding another.

A long time ago as a chief mechanic at Malibu Grand Prix the manger fired a tall skinny kid on my request as he kept leaning out the cars for tip money. That was blowing up my 340 Cuyuna motors . She did ,and week later he returned packing to get his. ( revenge is my guess ) She walked past me through the shop to the trash dumpster with office trash . A few minutes went by , and she didn't return . I went to go see what was going on ( no noise or anything ) rounded the corner , and now we were both held at gunpoint . Now that I was there he started talking garbage. I listened , and watched . Once I saw what I needed to it was over . Grabbed the gun from him as he tried to fight me from taking it , but it was a clean take , and I then used the butt of the gun to smash across his temple . Lights out , and never woke up while we were around . My manger , and HPD police asked why would I grab the gun from him . Simple I said . He had a Colt 1911 single action pistol that the hammer was DOWN on . His thump was not in position to cock the weapon .
Last I heard witch was 22 or 23 years ago he was never right after I hit him in the head .

Watched an episode of 'Live PD' Thursday-they were somewhere in Texas, I saw a silver Hayabusa go by in the background
