It ALWAYS smoke and mirrors. Keep the left hand busy so no one sees what the right is doing.
One way of looking at this is that Trump just couldn't/can't shut up.....
I said it a hundred times if only once......if the man would have shut his pie hole and stopped broadcasting his every thought and just done his job, he most likely would have not been voted out and wouldn't be going through all this now....
The fact is he just kept going on and on and on until he garnered the attention of anyone and everyone who actively sought out any little thing he did and used it against him....
It's like being pulled over by a cop and antagonizing him so much that he arrests you...if you would have shut up, got the ticket or warning and just left, all would have been grand.....
Trump got and will get exactly what he wanted...he wanted attention....now he's getting it in spades.....
My opinion:
I we reference the statute in NY, the line between a misdemeanor and a felony is a bit blurry. However following the law the charges can be construed as felonies.
Many businesses at times don’t classify expenses into the correct categories. Normally if they get a tax audit, those are corrected and extra taxes are paid. Normally it ends there. There have been a number of prosecutions in NY though, although this is unusual.
Why was this prosecuted now, rather than closer to 2016 when this happened?
For the Trump haters here, if you believe no one is above the law and anyone who breaks the law should be prosecuted then sell your Hayabusa. We have all broken the law.
For those who are not alarmed by undocumented Americans (20 million?) the only way they can be legally supported is by charity. Any entity who employs them and rewards them financially for their employment is engaging in illegal activity. No prosecutions though as the laws are not selectively applied. I can assure everyone here, most of them are earning through employment of some sort.
The point of the above paragraph is that if someone wants to hang a person, eventually they will find a reason to do so, and the person will hang. Laws are not supposed to be selectively applied because there are alternative motives.
My guess is that this is going to boost Trump’s popularity and that the higher courts will either change the charges to misdemeanors or dismiss them.

lol voted out. Hahahaha no one really believes Biden got 81 million votes. Let’s just get that clear. Guy didn’t campaign and got more votes by what 20 million than the first black president? I’m sorry that’s just hilarious.
The 81 million votes were people sick of Trump's dismissive arrogance. Jake from State Farm would have received 79 million. Policies only go so far as President. There has to be some level of decency and reverence.
Where do we find that in either Democrats of Republicans today?
Don't dismiss the fact that one, or even both may drop out of candidacy. It is unlikely, but we never know. Trump has a lot of baggage, Biden is not all there, something the Democrats are trying to deny, but all we have to do is listen and look.
Blows my mind how we ended up with these two.
The scary thing is there are more people than just you who believe that......any country that loses faith in it's democratic process will be doomed to become a "banana republic" or a dictatorship especially when the entire process hinges on elections.
I agree with @Red05 Trump didn't know how to shut up or conduct himself in a dignified manner which pissed a lot of people off.....and they voted for the other guy who didn't piss them off....if an organ grinder's monkey was running against Trump it would have won.
Good question. Random names? Charlie Baker, Liz Cheney, Tim Kaine. Search enough and you’ll find crap on anyone. I still depend on my judgement of character listening to people speak, as flawed as that may be.
Manipulated? Who did that? How? And how ‘won’t they be’ this time?
I don't think anyone can really answer those questions.
Personally I believe voting should be in person and with ID, those who don't make the effort don't deserve to pick.
