I'm sure being near the water has something to do with price though! Lucky for us we don't have any water, or trees, or electricity, at least it seems that's what most people think.

Still though, Californication still holds the record for crazy home prices.
The Northwet has taken a bit of a hit in home values but not nearly so bad as much of the rest of the country.
Moving here from Florida though left a mark. Sell a beautiful home in Tampa for $267,000 move up here looking for an upgrade, only to run into a sea of $500K dollar homes, and hell, we had been looking to step up in size... ???

Thanks Rev. One of the statistics that I remember for some odd reason: 75% of the total US population lives within 150 miles of a coast line. Move inland brother.

We are ready to move but don't know where to go as hubby's company has declared they are "moving" (within Austin) in 2010 but they are not sure where. The traffic is so terrible here that if we put ourselves in the wrong place we will be miserable. Plus there is always the school district thing to consider.
