update on ENGINE ICE

The stuff works. I did back to back tests on the same day, cranking the bike from cold until the fan came on. I took a lot more time to come on with engine ice than with prestone. I posted the exact times that it took, but that was some time ago...

then, once the fan came on, it was off very fast running engine ice. If you don't notice an improvement, you probably didn't pay that close of attention beforehand.

I didn't not THAT much of an improvement in my busa either, it is an analog gauge. However, with my gixxer, it has a digital gauge with the temp shown all the time. My gixxer consistently runs 15 to 18 degrees cooler than it did before I put the ice in. Of course you won't notice that little of a difference with a big ole needle with an H and a C....

Ive put the stuff in 4 of my buddies bikes and 2 of mine, all saw good results...

Think about this... If it didn't work, how does the stuff keep selling?

What about the anticorrosive properties of this stuff? Not much good if it allows your cooling system to rot in the long-term.

ok ok ok.

It guards against corrosion...

The Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant TM formulation has shown outstanding performance in testing that measures its ability to prevent corrosion within all cooling systems, including aluminum, copper, cast iron, steel, magnesium & solder. Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant TM has shown excellent performance in all of the ASTM D 5216 (Propylene Glycol Base Engine Coolant) tests. Also, Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant TM meets all the corrosion performance requirements of ASTM D 3306 & ASTM 4985 (the main specifications for premium ethylene glycol antifreeze).

And for all of you who notice it doesnt drop your temperature 50 degrees... They say 15-20 degree average right there...

Love the snake oil comment...

Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant tm uses propylene glycol, which has been proven to eliminate water pump gasket and seal failures. It has also been proven in high load, high stress conditions to run as much as 50oF (10oC) cooler than standard coolants. Individual results will vary. On average, most realize a temperature reduction of approximately 15-20oF.

but the manufacturer says it can keep the bike up to 50 degrees cooler. That's way more than your 18 degrees

Never could get my heand on engine ice... but I have the muzzy fan on elenor, and that has been working like a charm!!

A lot of people also think that since they are paying more it's gotta be better. Sometime it is but not all the time.

I was very concern with my temp gauge. And I know when my fan use to start.

But like I said I will be able to tell if it really works when I'll be sitting in heavy traffic for a long period of time.

Thanks, that what I was looking for.

Stock setup and days upon days of 100+ but she never gets above the hash mark. Stop, Stop, and Stop,,,then go traffic during rush hour...

Engine Ice can't have anything mixed in with it~ When I first changed to EI, I flushed the heck outta my system before adding it~ I didn't notice too much of a differance and figured I just didn't get my system completely flushed out~ This was confirmed when I did my 11k service~ I just drained the old stuff and (without flushing this time) put in a fresh batch~ Now the fan hardly kicks on at all~ In fact, while we (the FL crew) was out this past weekend, at one of our stops for fuel I heard someones fan and realized mine hadn't kicked on all day.. and I was running 'er pretty hard~
I have heard rumors of EI being hard on the water pump, but have yet to see this happen to anyone I know using it~ So yeah, I'd recommend it and will continue to use it until it starts hurting my Street Princess..

What about draining the current contents (stock) and then use some low pressure compressed air to finish pushing the old out? Refill afterward with Engine Ice....

they recommend that you thoroughly flush the entire system with distilled water/vinegar (i think it is) and then filling with the engine ice. As for price, its ~$17/bottle, you'll need 1.5 bottles, so ~$34 +s/h

Horse piss...
It's guaranteed to lower your engine temp by 20-50 degrees. Only $25 a gallon. You can even mix it with your existing coolant. Let me know if you're interested. I can even do a "group buy" if there is enough interest.

Glad to see you are so well informed as well as articulate with your vernacular skills! I guess I am imagining that my Busa no longer overheats in the Summer heat like it did during the Winter. I guess I am imagining that my temp gauge does not rise above the 1/2 way mark after running at idle for 20 minutes. Silly me...Guess I should have asked you for your expert opinion before I went out and foolishly spent $32 instead of just letting the bike overheat and damage the engine. Boy! Aren't I dumb!! Wish I had YOUR intelligence!

horse piss ? hmm.. HOW bout... goat piss !!!! the nieghbor has 1.. lets see if I get a "funnel ..3/8 hose .. bucket and a .. bat .. I've got it made.. btw..the bats for the goat ..just incase it gets carried away.. and gets .. " hungry "
