Wax on Wax off

Re: Best Polish-Wax for Motorcycles

i started using pledge and i will say that is all i will use on the bikes and helmet from now on. Gives a deep look to any dark color. Its fantastic:thumbsup::thumbsup:. Try it you wont regret it. Just look at sleepless_reds bike. I was skeptical but now i pledge.:cheerleader:

Re: Best Polish-Wax for Motorcycles

Don't you all think we should merge all the threads about Pledge/Dupont Chain wax and have it Pinned? Just a reminder, Mike1180 recommended Dupont so please let's not forget to thank him.:beerchug:

Re: Best Polish-Wax for Motorcycles

i tried the pledge a couple weeks back and didnt like it much. it left the bike looking all clean and shiny, but it also left a greasy residou behind that i didnt much care for. i'll stick to the meguires for now. its the best in my opinion.

Re: Best Polish-Wax for Motorcycles

Great pics and advice. I bought 2 cans of Dupont chain wax today. Bought a can of WD-40 to clean the chain. Waxed it and it almost looks new. I Pledge to buy Pledge.

A sticky is a good idea.

Re: Best Polish-Wax for Motorcycles

BIG SECRET REVEALED...

Virtuoso guitar polish -- the cleaner and polish -- two bottles, is sold at Guitar Center. It is far and away the best cleaner/polish for $$$ guitars. I used it on the '07 red Busa yesterday -- both steps -- and the bike looks absolutely new. It has a deep color that is WAY bettere than before. I'm amazed and the stuff is made for nitro lacquer finishes so it is very gentle.

Best polish I ever used...

Re: Best Polish-Wax for Motorcycles

alright I have to admit that I seriously thought you all were kidding about the pledge. I get it now though. I haven't used it as of yet, the pledge that is, I use Zaino 5. I use the california duster to dust it off everyday.

I pledge to also try the pledge and let you know. I had no idea  I'm so sorry and please forgive me. LOL keeping it waxed does make it faster right. J/K

Re: I "Pledge" my allegiance

Well I gave it a try when I got home and liked the results alot. Washed yesterday (got caught in the rain and pollen around here is bad) and did a Pledging when I got home today. Looks great (esp the inners) and very easy to do. Only thing I am concerned about is the UV sun protection. Bike does sit out at work in the sun for a good 6 hours a day. Thanks for the tip. Gotta get the chain wax now. Being a Jeff Gordon fan makes it easier.

Re: I "Pledge" my allegiance

I've been using Pledge on my bikes for the last 5 years. I've noticed no fading in that time. I have never put water and soap on my bike. After each ride, I clean the bike and helmet with pledge in 3-5 minutes, that's all it takes. I've also used it on my jacket for the fresh bug splats- it works decent for that as well.

FWIW, I'm the guy whose bike is always clean, and people think I slave over them...

Re: I "Pledge" my allegiance

I used to know a man with a prized Porsche from the 70's and he used Pledge as a final application and man I can't tell you how awesome it looked.

Re: I "Pledge" my allegiance

the dupont chain wax sold me so i guess my orange crush is getting the pledge treatment tonight.

Re: I "Pledge" my allegiance

I took the pledge and do not regret it at all. My bikes look great and the dirt and dust do not colect on them as with other pollishes and waxes.:thumbsup:

Re: I "Pledge" my allegiance

I just noticed to day that what I thought was pledge was actually Behold  so chalk another one up.

That's what I'm talking about when I said it takes me like 5 minutes to do the wheels. I know it's hard to believe when you haven't done it but that's all it takes me.

Sounds like I'll have to consider this.
???
What are you waiting for?

That's what I love about it. Like what I've said, sometimes I only use a duster when I get home. It's that easy.:beerchug:

in less than 5 minutes. I mean, c'mon. What would you rather do? Spend about an hour trying to clean the whole bike with other stuff or Pledge it in like 15 minutes or less?

By the way, that yellowish color is just the reflection of the grass.
