One death is too many, but let’s look at the numbers.Riiiight, just nearly a quarter million people, just in the US. Why care about them?
201,000 deaths divided by a population of 328,000,000 x 100 gives us 0.0613%
Where I have difficulty with the numbers is most dying are non-healthy elderly folks with underlying conditions. So when they pass away, was it really COVID, or not. How accurate is the reporting? How much of their life was left?
If we allow our economy to plunge, how many people will suffer in comparison?
Leading Cause of Death in U.S.? Hint: It Isn’t Covid-19
At its worst, the new coronavirus has killed 2,584 Americans in 24 hours. Daily totals aren’t available for heart disease, but some reports have compared the average, currently around 1,900 a day, to Covid-19’s high.
