What Did You Do To Your Busa, Today?

Last weekend I installed Rascal Grafik clear knee grips. Turned out pretty good. Then I took her out for a 60 mile ride to test out the cruise control, heated grips, and the BOOSTBYSMITH flashing of the ECU. Everything worked great. I'm a happy man.
Today I Installed a Hayabusa polished aluminum chain guard, did Blanca Boo's fender eliminator, cleaned and lubed chain. I got the chain guard off ebay and it said it was for 08-2012, but I had to do some grinding, polishing, and drilling to make it fit right. But it turned out pretty good anyways. Sometimes that's just what you have to do when you buy aftermarket.

How do you like those clear knee grips? Do you feel like they actually work?

I thought when I was buying them looking at the picture, it came in one piece per side. That's not the case. They come in 5 strips that I put on one at a time. Although it wasn't what I expected, It turned out looking pretty good. When I'm done putting the rest of the mods on and get her home I'll take some pics and post them up. I haven't really had a chance to go out and get aggressive with the bike to see how they grip. The weather is still pretty ****ty over here in Oregon. But when I do, I'll let you know.

Put about 150 miles on her and bout some lights to go under the body. Probably put them on this week or the coming weekend.

Took the leaf blower and tried to un-pollen up the Busa while ridding my yard of leaves...that count?

Installed my cycle pirate pegs and rear seat I bought from an org member. Bad pic. But here they are.

Today I installed fork seals. I think I'd rather drink sour milk.

My homemade Suzuki special tools worked pretty well, but I'll make a new and improved spring compressor when I have to do it again.

In all the research I did for tips and tricks, I never read about a good substitute for the Suzuki special tool that holds the cartridge rod up while you try to re-compress the spring. If you don't hold it up, it drops back down in the tube. I finally figured it out... attach a piece of rubber hose over the threads. Easy.

My wife acted as my assistant for the compression/decompression exercises. She was a good sport.

Actually got a little ride in with the step-daughter. Been fighting the rear tire on my father-in-laws cruiser. Let someone complain about getting the rear off the Busa ever again. Everything but the swing arm had to come off from the tank back. Couldn't get the final gear hub off, so fighting getting the tire off, and now the new tire on. Maybe tomorrow :banghead:

Removed brake pads
Cleaned calipers
Reinstalled pads
Reinstalled front fender
Reinstalled front wheel
Torqued bolts
New oil in
Reinstalled both side fairings
Put air in tires
Ran engine for 5 minutes
Cleaned wheels etc.

And tomorrow I take her out of the house

Rode it... and almost got killed by an a-hole making an illegal u-turn in front of me so he could get into a strip bar parking lot. :banghead:

was in stop and go traffic for one hour and 15 mins with the fuel light on on hwy 35 in dallas:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:.
