What did you do to your Gen 3 today?

I know the gen 3 trunk is not that big but it’s the largest trunk I’ve ever had on a sport bike, I like it a lot. I rode this past weekend and I froze a bottle of water and put it in the trunk and it lasted my whole ride. I thought that was pretty cool. I can also fit some lightweight leather gloves inside the hump. Way more room than I had on my ZX11’s. Love my gen 3.

Any Gen3 owners running a 190/55/17? I’m headed to get one mounted up and wondered if anyone else made that switch.

Wonder if there is enough room in there for you gen3 guys to do the “trash can” mod(?)

Mind posting a pic? You should see a Gen-1/2, you can pack a lot. With the trunk mod, you can fit a suitcase almost…

Yesterday I took my son out on the Busa for the first time. He said it was much more comfortable than my previous bike (GSX S1000). The continuous acceleration with quickshifter was a little scary at first for him, but much more fun once he got used to it. Just you wait until the break-in is done... :)

Ordered drop pegs, tried to order some parts from Kojak, thinking about which windshield color to get from Puig and the R&G package isnt even here yet... Previously I wanted to keep it mostly stock, but that's water under the bridge. This is such an "ultimate" bike that it's worth personalizing it.

Tried how the Kriega US20 works as a tank bag (you can see the adapter on the photo). Good, as long as it's not completely full.
When using as tailbag its easy to get on the bike for the back seat where it rests is much lower than on the GSX-S1000. On the photo its quite loaded with a shoebox. Excuse me for the filthy bike, the rain caught me on some dusty roads. On a related note, rain protection is amazing, not getting my crotch wet every drizzle is a huge upgrade from riding a naked bike.

Also got a GPS tracker, Monimoto MM5. Will install and test tomorrow and report back how it is.

The Monimoto GPS tracker works great. Tested it today. It is a battery-powered device with motion sensor, GPS and sim card. When someone uprights the bike, it wakes up, calls a designated number and starts tracking any movement, sending regular position updates to the paired phone. Yet when you approach the bike with a fob in your pocket, or with the paired phone (bluetooth on) it doesn't send false alarm. The tracker device is small, easy to hide under the fairings.

My only problem was too much range. The device felt the fob even when it was in the pocket of my jacket hanging in the wardrobe in the house, maybe 10 meters and a wall away. Rendering it useless when at home. After some thought I wrapped the fob in one layer of tinfoil, that interfered with the signal just enough to solve this, but still deactivate the alarm when sitting on the bike. I felt good about the solution, then I saw that I can shorten the range from the app...

I've done the foil thing with the Viper system in the SLC. It had automatic doors (no handles, just 1 button/door inside and keyfob to open from outside. My issue was I could accidently hit the button with keys in my pocket and open the car due to the 1/4 mile or whatever range. I ended up with trial and error with foil until it operated the ideal distance I wanted.

That's pretty awesome you can shorten the range from the app, very smart of them for sure!

Last week I received the rear stand so I could finally do the kickstand mod. It was actually easier than anticipated. The bike has much better posture now.

Also installed R&g Racing axle sliders, kickstand shoe and tank grip. Next stop 1,000km service and frame sliders. Then hopefully the package from Kojak arrives with more goodies and I'll be more or less done. Will add photos then.

IMHO very close. Obvious differences between the depth of the anodized and the clear candy red….but it works
Works really well, they are gorgeous on that bike. Freaking cheap too! I ordered a pair as backup even though I just shelled out for the LSL's. Found them in blue and silver for my white bike.

I noticed a similar riding position on mine, but I chocked it up to the stock seat. When I send it off to get modified, I will feel alot more like I'm riding bike instead of riding on tip top of the bike (if that makes sense).
Back in the day a buddy bought a ZX12, and I clipped a magazine article comparing it to the Gen 1, and the line I remembered was something like "Climbing off the 12 and onto the Busa is like climbing off of a 160 horsepower giraffe and climbing onto a 160 horsepower salmon..."

PICTURES !!!! We Have :rulez: !!!!!'

One the Monimoto tracker...which model ?.

Bottom line of site glass 3.25 qts
Middle of site glass 3.50 qts
Upper line of site glass 3.75 qts
Full site glass 4.00 qts+

The engine runs safe at 3.25 quarts.
I prefer 3.75(more oil equals cooler and longer lasting oil, with more oil pressure)
I know several who run 4 qts without issue.
If the oil is on the bottom line, upright on level ground...then technically the dealer is right, the oil level is ok.
This is with a new filter or without?

This is too cool. I'm thinking of getting one myself. My last bird was stolen and this little device would have come handy in the time after it was poached.

With a new filter always.
And there is very little oil in the filter anyway, after the oil has drained back into the pan.
If the filter had a check-valve to hold oil in, it would just be a benefit.
There is more than enough range of acceptable oil amount that the amount of oil the filter holds is not a concern.
No worries.
