What did you do to your Gen 3 today?

Had a little fun testing out the 17/42 sprockets. Then got to my destination and dropped my baby for the 1st time. Ruined my whole weekend. Also after I picked it up I noticed a huge puff of blueish smoke when I started it up. I'm hoping some oil just got to somewhere it normally isn't and caused that. I also had fuel leaking from the hose near the kickstand.

So how much of an difference did it make going from 18 to 17 sprocket. Was it worth changing.

Not alot. I went 1 tooth down on the rear so they almost cancel out. Goal was to have slightly more acceleration than factory and also move the rear tire as far back as possible in the swingarm while still having some room to adjust for chain stretch. I also didn't want it to be a wheelie monster in 1st gear either. So far this seems to be working out like I hoped.

Made a solemn oath that I would never skip leg day.

Had a fantastic ride out with the son. Stopped on the driveway, he jumped off and ran inside. I went forward with the bike and then the dreaded thing happened - forgot to put the kickstand down, leaned the bike over to the left, lower, lower, lower... almost dropped it. I mustered the strength to make it upright again. The bike is one heavy mf to lift. I was so glad the son was no longer on pillion.

You dodged a bullet, bro. Great job! :D

I think the Gen 3 is an easy bike to forget to put the kickstand on for some weird reason. Never happened with my previous bikes.

I suspect it's because the bike is so low, wide and heavy, so it feels safe and planted already without the kickstand.

l have to remind me every single time I ride, and then I do the OCD thing of making sure the kickstand is resting against the stop, shake the bike like mad, then check the kickstand again, then shake and check again.

Sometimes I'd walk away and then turn around and shake and check one last time for maximum peace of mind. I must look so silly!

You had me worried there for a second. You did better than me! Made A Mistake

I'm getting her back to perfect though. Also got a lil something in the mail......
Front weighed 7.0lbs and the rear is 7.6lbs according to my handheld luggage scale.
