Jimbo, have you ever dealt with pressure activated paints that can change color with wind pressure? This is what they use in wind tunnel testing. I know someone looking for that stuff and I'd love to experiment with it myself.

Narcissus,
Never dealt with pressure sensitive paint, but it sounds interesting. The newest line we have is Spectraflair paint. There is several different colors, my favorite being Dark Charcoal. It would look great on a Busa! As a matter of fact, I pulled a no brainer and tipped my 02 busa over in my garage yesterday. :hammerhead: (new tank $635.00) Now that I think about it, this might be a good time to see if my company would kick down some new paint! My friend just did his new Aprillia in Spectraflair and it looks real nice.

Cool. Got any free samples, just a mere pint or two?

You can get new tanks for much cheaper than that. I have a couple numbers for parts, just above cost (nearly half retail), but they're lost somewhere in the piles of papers on my desk.

What's the extent of the damage? You can fix everything for next to free and get it custom painted... then it won't look like every other busa on the block.

I was putting my bike on a swing-arm stand and it flopped over on the right side. Landed on a dirt bike jack that I had next to it, put a big crease on the side. Broke my heart more than anything! I'll get a new tank and then I'll have the old one to experiment with. I wish I could get some samples, this stuff is exspensive! Any info on cheaper parts would be much appreciated!

Jimbo, What year and color bike do you have? I have a 2000 Blue and Silver tank that only has a very small rock chip by the filler and a few zipper scratches on it. $400

2002 Blue/Black but thanks for the offer!
1500miles on it and loving it!! The wife and I road to Laguna Seca for the race weekend and she said it was much more comfortable than my GSXR-1100! I don't know why I didn't get one sooner? To see it laying on its side broke my heart! Hope it never happens again.

With all of the new members I thought that I would bring this one back around. This way we could get to know something about one another.

I thought I posted to this thread earlier, but evidently not. I work for Honda, I know hold the laughter. The best way to describe my job is I buy stuff for a living. I buy all of the capital equipment (equipment used to make the vehicles) for a new assembly plant we are building.
