What's Changed? My point of view

Cap this is one of the nicest sites out there,Thats why I been post whoring it up . Serious though not one time have I looked at someones post who had a question and seen "uuuuhhh use the search button" most other boards that is the first thing you get. Sure we will bicker on some threads but that's just human nature  I hope to be here a very long time even if in the crazy future somehow I do not own a Hayabusa.Since being on here I have met 3 real world people in my area considering how many members we have I look at that as being awesome. IMO that is the board working right there:thumbsup:

I have learned a lot here also and if it was not for some of the members helping me out here I don.t know what I would have done, saved me money also by not going to the dealer and instead coming here:thumbsup:
Thank you .ORG

doug you and i have talked about some of the things i notice...and your experience and mine of being here for 6 years we each had good points...work...family...finances..all contribute to me sometimes only stopping in for few min to comment on a few threads and then the screen goes blurry and i have to head to bed...i do the things i am doing on there for one purpose as all people do in the core of thier being..they get something out of it...the haya's in the hills is my attempt to get some of the "closeness" that sometimes i feel only comes from those on this site who have been to a bash. as doug states there is a diffrent type of bonding that happens once you actually meet someone in real life...so...promote the haya's as much as i can...try to get to this fall's bash...put my self infront of others so they too can see...i am worthy of being called a freind..as much as i want to truely call all of you freinds. but with this freindship comes a responsibility that sometimes i let laspe...stop in the new members thread...throw in my :welcome: and a kind word, offer my experience in posts, heck even just a response of idk is better than trolling and saying nothing...we have this group here...it has been a place im happy to call home...talk and tell others of the fellowship i recieve here...and i for one...will continue to help when i can...hello and welcome couple times a week...and throw out my will to bring people together in the haya's......soon some day...ill meet as many of you as i can and truely feel blessed to know i can call you freinds

I like it here !!! Always have.....even if sometimes someone asks for info on something..and i post an answer to some issue...with sincere intensions to help....i feel let down..even when i know what i am talking about. It's Prolly the way i come across.
You called me YODA once....I suppose at times i am too matter of fact with my answers.
I will try to be less so if you think i need to.. Thanks Cap...
I am who i are....hahahahaha.

newbie to one of the old guys

well I know how this feels even at 20years old;

when i first came to this site it was to find out about the busa and if I realy wanted one
and what seemed like countless questions I asked that many asked before me
to just a few weeks back where I answered the same question I once asked myself.

one of the funnest things is helping people with the same problems you once asked for help on

may be young but every1 grows up fast on a busa

The age old question - Do you (we) give more than you (we) receive?

The .org has alot to offer, can any one person give more than they have received from the .org?

I doubt it.

But I am sure that you (we) try to give as much as we get.

I have only been a member here for 2-3 years, I think.

I have been a member of a couple other forums for longer period of time, BUT, this is by far the BEST forum (regardless) as far as everyone helping each other out.

And by the above statement it is not limited to motorcycles.
I have seen everyone here help other members out financially for any reason you can think of. I have seen advice offered to members going through marital problems (any other problems that have been brought to yours (ours) attention.

You (we) befriend your new members like a kid brother/sister, no matter what their maturity level.

Yes on occasion we may bicker, but, what brother/sister/aunt/uncle/mom/dad/son/daughter/niece/nephew in a FAMILY does not do this on occasion.

There is always room for improvement on any walk of life. But here on the .org you will always have one that agrees with you and one that disagrees with you.

The heart and soul of this site has not changed since I have been here, and I for one do not want it to.

So who ever is in charge, whether it is the owner of the site or the members here ---- PLEASE, keep up the great work. You guys/ladies have been a big help to me over the past 2-3 years.

I don't feel like I give enough help to people with bike trouble, but thats mostly because I'm no expert and have more questions than answers. I do think that this site is full of great people and I know that I can rely on them for honest opinions and answers. Maybe when I find all the ways not to do something I'll have more input:laugh:

Doug. New member here. I have nothing but great things to say about this site since I joined last month. I felt very welcome when I made my first thread in the new member section and never felt any less than equal from the other members. This seems to me to be a very family oriented, caring, here to help kind of site. Like Wayne said above on a lot sites the very first response you get is "Use the search button". I'm sure the same questions are asked over and over again but I have yet to see that answer from anyone here. I'm not new to motorcycles but "very" new to the Hayabusa so I have ton's more question's than answer's. I can meet and greet but will be lousy for awhile as far as technical stuff go.

I have met someone since I've been here that I now call my friend. He has given me lot's of advice and even helped me do my first oil change. He didn't want anything for helping except for us to enjoy some good rides together. I'm certain there are other member's here that would do the same if they were close and were asked. I'm looking forward to meeting other member's in person. There are several member's in the South Alabama area and several of us up in the Northern part. I've been wanting to ask some of them to meet mid State one pretty Saturday and just ride. I think if we got together with other member's in our part's of the Country we would all enjoy our time together and learn something from each other. It's a shame we aren't all neighbors and could ride together every week.

So to sum up my opinion of the site.........

Great post Doug. Though I can't give back all the technical info that I recaive due to me still learning so much about the Busa, I will still try and give some one a welcome or just conversate with a member. One day I hope to be as knowledgable as many on here are and pass on what has been passed to me. I can't wait for the day to meet the members that I talk(type with) on a day to day basis. This is the first and only bike forum I have been on and don't plan on going to any other. doug you have done a great job making this the place it is and with the help of your Admin and Mods, it continues to get better. No matter what is done, there are going to be a few that want to cause trouble, but there are more good than bad and that will overcome any negetivity. So in other words, this place and all it's members are awsome.

Terry

Things I have done for others on this site:

Shipped parts, gear, motorcycle clothing, accessories, stands, etc. for free. Sold some parts that I no longer use.

What this site has cost me:

Mods, tires, another Hayabusa, etc.

What others here have done for me:

Offered the kind of friendships you don't find most places. Showed that you cared, even if you have never met that person. Most of you here are more respectful to others than the members of any other site I have been a part of. The few members I have met face to face are top notch people that I am proud to say I know.

The Pay-it-Forward attitude is not an accident. You have to do it intentionally. It feels good because it's the right thing to do.

I went to my first bash last month with 2 friends and left the next day with 102 friends. Thanks Doug and everyone else.

I have not had the pleasure of meeting anyone on here but i have had plenty of help from anything i have ever wanted to do with my bike. When i installed the HID system on my bike, Warbird II was really a big help. He went out of his way to spend time with on the phone walking me through things i didnt understand. He went as far as to offer to help me install it if i was to come to his house. What a great thing to offer when you don't even know someone! Everytime i have had a question about anything someone has helped me out. With that said i want to Thank you all I had planned to come to the bash this year to meet all of you but it just did not happen. I am looking forward to the day that i can meet as many of you as i can. I love coming on here to check out what is going on with everyone and am always looking to learn new things. This site is the first thing i look at whan i get on line. So thank you all again for such a great place to hang out on the net. If it is ever anything i can do to help anyone on here please let me know. Doug

Many dittos on the previous posts. There's little more that I could say other than thanks for all you do here.

All of the great members of this site is what keeps me coming back. I have learned so much from this site and it's members, that I can't stand going anywhere else. Other sites are just unorganized, no rules, members are just rude, and the overall site just sucks! The .Org is the place for me!!!!!!

Lots of great responses to Cap's post. I think most of us can step up a notch to help new members feel welcome and try to help with questions that anyone may bring forward. I know that I'm no expert on the Busa but I will offer my opinion or experience on a given issue if I think it may help. The help I've received from other members has been immense and priceless.

So thanks to the awesome members here who help keep this site one of the best in the world!
