Just a Sunday rant.
Sometimes I tell myself what's the point. Why have things you enjoy but yet no time to enjoy them. My work schedule for the last 15 years has allowed me little time to enjoy the fruits of my labor.
Sure, I enjoy my time at home, what little of it there is. When not away most of the "free time" is spent on "house duties" such as cleaning and getting some food in the house. Running errands seems to take the better part of most days.
I often wonder what it feels like to have some sort of "normal" in one's life. Everything I do has to play second to my work. This includes Doctor visits, Dentist etc. When you are "on call" 24/7 it does get trying at times. Most business's understand and will "fit you in" which helps. It's still tough.
Sure, this was my life choice. I enjoy it but working long hours at anytime of day or night sleeping when I can and very little exercise. (my fault) I make good money and provide myself and Mikki with the "comfortable" things but it comes at a huge sacrifice. It wears on me a little more each year.
Retirement is now in sight and let me tell you..I can't wait. No cell phone, no pager and in my own bed every night.
Just for fun I did inventory on the garage toys. I wish I had not thus the rant.
Hayabusa: I keep a service record. 03/30/08 coolant change. 5374 miles. Today 5730 miles on ODO.
Buick: Middle of June 08. 515 miles. Today, 653 miles.
Tundra: Don't really feel bad on this because the time and the deal was right. I needed a retirement truck.
Brought it home July 24, 2008. Picture says it all.
Well, I feel better. Thanks for listening. I'll carry on as you do and ponder "what's the point".
