Whats your gas mileage?

The Busa was 33-35. The Harley just got up to 46.9 according to the tuner. Paper math last tank was 41

Last I checked I averaged around 46 on a highway trip that lasted 4 hours. 80-100 most of the way with a handful of hard pulls.

-Digging up this thread's grave-
I used to get 34-42MPG...been riding more often this year and noticed she is thirsty. Started keeping track of mileage and my last 4 fill ups are getting 28MPG  wtf??!
35 of my 37 mile commute is on the interstate at 80MPH...170lb rider, gen1, and stock gearing so 80MPH is near 4.5RPM.
Did the fuel pump mod (drilled & inline filter), new plugs, throttle sync, clean air filter...what the hell happened?

As someone else mentioned, I would be concerned about keeping the inside of the motor clean with low gas mileage. The classic experience is a new pipe with tune, too rich at low throttle, carbon fouling and from there things just start going South.

I average between 48-52 mpg depending on the amount of ethanol in the gas, or summer/winter gas.

I just did 150 miles on my 2023 Gen III and averaged around 35 mph, I did some interstate, some secondary roads and a few back roads, kept speeds under 80 mpg on the hwy. I still have less than a 1000 miles on the clock so I'm hoping as time goes by and I accumulate some miles mpg will improve. With that said I really didn't buy this bike to be worried about mpg, I bought it to bring a smile to my face when I twist the throttle and the only time I worry about gas is when I start getting toward empty.

Mileage with relaxed riding on the Gen3. Quite pleased with this.

Ready to swap out the stock sprocket for a bit more.

That’s where you want to be.

When we talk about “relaxed riding” I am surrounded by quiet country roads lots of wooded areas. To me relaxed riding means including occasional full throttle for short periods. That gives me about the same mileage on a Gen 2.

Anything more than that over here, trying to use the full power of the Busa, two out of ten rides I will either end up in jail, or have a pretty bad crash.

So I am trying to understand how the folks getting mileage in the low 30’s get away with it.

I think you’re missing the point about mpg.
It’s a handy indication of how efficient your engine is running… too lean, too rich or right in the sweet spot, a bit like assessing the way it’s tuned.
I look at my kms per litre ( mpg in your currency ) on my dash each tank full and each ride and I know immediately if it’s running rich or lean for whatever reason.
A bit like having an air/fuel ratio gauge on the dash.
It totally depends on throttle openings and engine load of course, but when it’s a constant cruising speed you just know how it’s efficiency is doing.
