wheelies??

Idk About it taking years.... I'm 21. This is my first Busa but I had a 2002 Yamaha R1 since I was 17 and I think by the, I will say 2 month I could ride a wheelie a solid mile.

maybe I'm a small percentage but its all in the confidence and knowledge of what your bike will do when.

First, kudos on your riding skills - Don't take this the wrong way but I started riding bikes a decade before you were born... I didn't say you couldn't learn to ride wheelies in weeks or months only that it takes years to ride with authority. At twenty one I had all the confidence in the world but its been tempered by the toll its taken on many of my cycle buds... With four years experience under your belt are you recommending that folks just start clutching up wheelies and it will all work out just fine for them?

They have machines that you can pratice wheelies on at shows and almost all the inexperienced riders loop it just like they would if they tried on their own!

I am glad you and your cycle are all in one piece and I sincerely hope it stays that way!!!

Talk to Steven (Tufbusa); that old reprobate knows more about wheelies thank just about anyone!

No no I'm not trying to be an arrogant 21 year old bugger, sorry if it came off that way. I'm just saying that it is the natural progression of man to push machine as far as it can possibly go, that life without risk is not life.

However, I am 21 and in my mind invincible. The first time I clutched up my ninja ZX9R in first gear almost at a dead stop (thought I was cool trying a slow wheelie ha!) I ended up running behind my bike for a couple feet. But here I am alive ya know?

Not saying dump the clutch in second at going 90 on one wheel for your first try, I'm saying its not as scary as it sounds.

Can't wait to have that kind of riding under my belt.

So far I'm on roughly 35,000-40,000 miles (no odometer on my first bike.)

I flippin dig wheelies  I think if someone who can ride a wheelie on their Busa and control it rocks!!!! Those of you dogging those doing wheelies are just jealous because you can't get yours up...... POST YOUR WHEELIE PICTURES YOU ALL!!!!!

just curious how many of u guys do wheelies on the busa. Call me a panzy, but i have owned my 08 busa for about 2 months now and have never wheelied it yet. I was the same on my 04 gsxr 750, i would rip on the bike pretty hard sometimes, but never did wheelies on it. I used to ride wheelies forever on my mountain bike when i was younger, and will do some on a quad or dirtbike, but on pavement it's a little different. I'm always afraid the first time i attempt one i will be eating pavement, so i like to keep both wheels planted where they should be. I'm sure it's not too good on the bikes either, i have heard about guys blowin for seals on the busa bc she is so heavy bringin down from a wheelie. Don't get me wrong, i love the insane power of this thing when i can hardly hold on, but i would rather keep the rubber side down. I know 2 or 3 guys that used to have busa's and flipped them back while doing a wheelie, just another reason i have no interest to attempt it

Now that is some funny sheitz right there, I don't care who you are!

A new wheelie style never before seen by mankind, the "Bow Legged Chicken Wheelie"!

It's half stand up, half sit down with a twist of "Move over mama, I'm coming through the back yard"!

Thanks for perking up my Saturday Morning. I'll be giggling over this one as I reflect on it throughout the day! :beerchug:

People that have a bike, which like real sport bikes and the Busa can be wheelied very easy, is no near in full control of their bike IMHO. These people often call the wheelie guy stupid etc. But the thruth is that it is very fun (and impressing on some) to make a wheelie now and then, as also Valentino and other top drivers do when they are celebrating. It is expecially fun to overtake GSX R's and alike by driving on the rear wheel only

A nice wheelie should be mandatory in the licence test.

I need to get some pics up on here of me 12 o'clockin it.
these bikes SIT at 12 o clock SOO PERFECT. I've wheelied tons of bikes and this one is so easy and smooth to leave there!

don't be afraid, clutch it up and be confident and you won't flip:thumbsup:

Yes sir, you certainly do! A man that's this good at 12 0'clock wheelies on a busa certainly has tons of photos. Please post a few up. I'm anxious to see them as is everyone else.

A young man who threw a leg over a bike for the first time at 17 and two months later was doing mile long wheelies on an R1 is more than spectacular in my book. I've never heard of such and you may be a great candidate for the Guiness Book of World Records?

One of my friends held the record with an 87 mile wheelie at one time and he practiced almost every day for ten years before he became that good at wheelies.

The only man I've ever seen 12:00 a busa with such athority was professional stunter Kyle Wood. Since you have only owned two bikes, which bike did you learn to 12:00, the busa or the R1? How many rear brakes did you wear out while mastering such a difficult stunt on a big heavy bike? Holding that much weight that far behind the balance point takes a lot of rear brake and if you were to carry that thing a mile, the brake disk would be glowing red hot! Did you attend any wheelie schools or did you learn this all on your own?

You are an unbelieveable young man and we can't wait for the photos! :beerchug:

Yes it requires experience and skills to make a 12:00 with Busa. I don't dare to try and just make quite high power wheelies sometime, nothing really impressing but it feels good though.

Pictures you all!!! Pictures Pictures Pictures!!!! Post them Busa wheelie pictures please

Be Patient my friend, Dansky is going to post up some dandy ones! :cheerleader:

No hate dude! I just never seen anything quite like that before and you have to admit, you have a special kind of style going there! Maybe call that one a "Squat Wheelie"!

If you are having fun, that's all that matters. If it makes me giggle, that's good too!

If I'm riding hard, the front end comes up on every dip in the road, and coming out of most corners, but I don't normally try to ride them, seals are expensive.

seals aren't but labor is. If you have the guts to wheelie you have the guts to change seals yourself.

:beerchug::thumbsup: when you get a bike that long up everyone is like what the hell was that . I just like to use the back pegs for wheelies
