Speaking of the economy I don't think it really is his fault, and that 2 year majority you speak of was more like 5 months that they had a filibuster proof majority when totaled up, some of that time was during recess. Fox news has been putting this lie out for a while now. The part they usually leave out is the Republicans filibustered nearly everything that President Obama and Democrats have tried to do since the moment Obama took office in January 2009 and that Democrats had a 60-vote majority from July 7, 2009 to August 25, 2009 and again from September 25, 2009 to February 4, 2010..

Here's the thing If you walk into a mess, it really does take time to clean it up and that clean up may force your hand, besides it took how many years to break it? You can not expect to fix it in a couple years. Obama was wrong to think that the American people would be more important than maintaining political party lines, so he should have had more realistic recovery goals, besides you can't please everybody and with the hate machine distorting every fact and creating an alternate reality it complicates it further.

You are 100% correct about the credit card statement, that is the same point that people try to explain when they talk about how much the deficit is under Obama, those credit card charges weren't made during his term but he is stuck with the bill that included
two wars that weren't paid for, tax cuts that weren't paid for, a prescription drug plan that was not paid for, and then the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression that required additional emergency actions.

How dare you look at the bigger picture and not just listen to what the talkin heads say and accept it as the truth. You need to put your head firmly back in front of the tv and play non stop glen beck fox news and rush limbaugh and get learned.

bailouts that won't be paid for.

Obamacare that can't be sustained.

More entitlement programs.

last time I checked we still have troops in the middle east, and we're still at war with groups instead of countries.

Allows in real time an attack on a u.s. consulate and other american security officers.

Horrible energy policies, and investing in unsustainable/unviable forms while blocking resource tapping.

Expanding irs.

Allowing detainment camps to remain open all while continuing the expansive definition of who can be detained.

Raising taxes across the board.

Dodging the war on drugs while trying to down play it at the same time.

There are alot of things a president greatly influences, people choose to downplay the ones that fit their particular agenda though, on both sides.

He is to be held accountable for the dumb crap he has done yes. But not the dumb crap that's been building for decades. Congress doesn't need to sit quietly. But they do need to do their damned jobs. Unfortunately the country has been dumb down to the point we actually put a "Community Organizer" with absolutely NO experience at leading so much as a coffee stand in charge. Like many Americans, I had great aspirations that this president would be a success and it broke my heart to watch him fail time and time again. I realized we were in trouble when he arrived at the white house surrounded by his Entourage of Chicago Thug Politicians.

I believe this Benghazi fiasco that left four American's including our ambassador dead is going to be the final nail in the coffin that ends his presidency. The Benghazi ball is rolling and picking up steam every day while the president avoids the subject like the plague. With each passing day more and more information bubbles to the surface and none of it looks favorable for the president. Romney has everything going his way with only a few days left in the campaign. The momentum of the pendulum began to swing Mitt's way after the first debate and its looking like it will push him over the finish line ahead of the president.

Unfortunately, I won't be voting FOR Mitt Romney but I WILL be voting against Barack Hussein Obama!

CT just approved marijuana use but for medicinal purposes only. there tryn to decide who and where the dispensaries are gonna be. I think it will be a long time before we see it for general use tho over the age of 21 since it was a long battle to get it approved for medicinal use with pretty strict guidelines as to who would apply. going to ur doctor and complaining about a hangnail isnt gonna cut here in CT like it does in Cali.

although, they did de-criminalize its possession a couple years ago as long as its under 1/2 oz and now its an infraction (fine) which is rarely enforced.

the longest recession was the 1974 recession. it lasted a total of 16 months (NOT 10 years). that recession was a global recession triggered by the arab-Israeli war and the ensuing arab oil embargo. the shortest recession was the 1980 recession which lasted for only 6 months.

End of the day, the growth is not enough to put millions back to work. $6 Trillion of spending by BHO did not work, same as the $2 -$4 Trillion from GWB didn't work, insane path to destruction for the USA. I chose "other" because I'm not that impressed with either major party choices. There are a few good points being expressed here from both sides but unfortunately this thread seems to be headed in the usual direction that MOST political, religious, tire, PPE, oil threads, etc., on here wind up. Folks need to realize that others are strong and steadfast in their beliefs and internet forum opinions will not change someone's long held beliefs. Besides, did anyone NOT know how the poll would turn out? It was obvious to me considering the leanings of the majority of the members.

I believe a compromise from both parties, in the moderate zone, is needed for this country to start a strong recovery process on major issues affecting us. Anyway, regardless of one's belief, get out and vote.
