havent' tried it yet but i want to get the icon mainfraim cause it looks like it gets sick airflow and i live in florida where its hot way too often and i rarely do long highway rides to deafen so no care really bout wind noise but i'de vote scorpion over the hjc for riding comforty and quality and quiteness but my cheeks are too fat for them

Arai, Shoei, Suomy, Shar, Scorpion, ICON,AGV, Nolan, KBC

That should be the order, but what do I know my current helmet is an HJC, Had my Arai & Shoei BOTH stolen, nobody has touched my HJC though....ICON was cheap material period.
I need anew helmet, maybe I will see whaos got what now, perosnally Im looking at full race boots

Lots of good info on the .oRg regarding boots, bro. Don't know what you're intending to spend on the boots...but Alpinestars and Sidi would be among the first I'd look at...

Funny (but no one's laughing) story about your better gear getting stolen and no one touching the other. Sorry for that shizzle.

:beerchug:

I'm saving my $$ for an Arai Profile series helmet. Best fitting helmet I ever wore in 20 years !! Right now I own an Icon, does the trick but it's kinda noisy.

I've got a Shoei head and I'm sportin' the X-11, like the light weight and the airflow is pretty good. I bought it in '04 and still holding up well, I went about a year + with out riding during that time.

Yeah Scar, I've heard about the boots, im definitely looking to hit ya up for some road expereinced unbiased commentary:laugh:so far I have managed to whine my way into my Komodo Meso(bought by the Mrs.and being broken in at the dragon), she had already bought me the Sidi street boots (breaking them in at the Dragon too) and I was whining about a helmet last night and acutally got her to go to the shop with me, could have walked away with either another Arai or Shoei but the guy behind the counter was a tool so she decided not to spend the money there...sigh...cant blame her, he was a tool, anywho going to another shop today to maybe lick up a new lid for Fall bash too! MAN wish you were coming Scar..but then you can always watch us on the camera link:laugh::laugh::laugh::thumbsup:

I love your wife!

Sidi...good job
Komodo...good job...word has it they have stitching problems particularly in the crotch. Even with non-crash, regular use, (this is going to sound wierd, no way around it), keep your eye on that area.

No licking the lids, yo...until after you buy it! Remember this: $10 helmet for a $10 head. I'm sure you're adept at reading between the lines.

I wish I was coming, too, brother. Many great friendships are fostered at those gatherings. I'm still of the mind-set that the live video link is dangerous and many people will end up embarassed or in trouble!!! Can't wait to see it! :cheerleader:

Maybe one day a bunch of us will make the road-trip and join ya'llz for Fire-Side Busa-Chat.

Have fun, be safe, enjoy yourself, take lots of pix.

:beerchug:

:rofl::rofl:Ok no lid lickin I promise, yeah my wife ROCKS bro, she takes good care of me for sure. I will be sure to have the wife keep a "keen" eye on that suspected area of stitching non-conformity:laugh::laugh:although er first comment was "ok now go try in on for me, and when I did she immditely asked where the "zipper" was :rofl:hmmm.:thumbsup:we'll catch ya on the busatube!

:rofl::rofl:hmmm.:thumbsup:we'll catch ya on the busatube!

I'm thinking about send a couple cases of hard liquor (read: Licker) to the 'bash, in order to speed-up the antics!!!

Yeah...that should do it.

Ok im off to the shop to see what lid I can snatch up before lunch! Woohoo!

I've owned most...imho?...there's only 3 brands...

1.Shoei or 2.Aria (pending head shape) and 3?...HJC (pending wallet size)

I still love my Chris Vermuelen Shoei X11....(purchased more than a year ago)....

While not "The Lightest" out there?...it's aero's more than make up for it's "felt weight at speed"...closest thing to wearing nothing i've ever owned/ridden with...and flows some serious air.

My X-11 (E-Boz) is my favorite, as well. My opinion, like yours: Shoei's shape gives the best wind-slicing, easily reducing neck fatigue in high-wind or at high speed.

:beerchug:

A friend of mine picked up a helmet identical to yours (pictured) night before last at Cycle Gear.

Amen...now...1 ata time.....

1. My X-11 [/B](E-Boz) is my favorite, as well. My opinion, like yours: Shoei's shape gives the best wind-slicing, easily reducing neck fatigue in high-wind or at high speed.

Yes it does....and the most apparent times for me were while doing "Head Checks" at 120-140+mph and the delta in felt wind resistance was "negligable"...where lesser lids would've been ripp'in yer freaking neck outta socket to achieve such a feat. And?....

2. "A friend of mine picked up a helmet identical to yours (pictured) night before last at Cycle Gear."

Really?....heck....back when i first bought mine?...after i posted up?...several other h.org members attempted to purchase the same hand painted chriss vermuelen tc-5 graphics/colors and they was sold out....of most sizes...for quite some time...as the X-11 was a "Loss Leader" for shoei even at the $749msrp.....(i got mine at "The Helmet Hut" in daytona shipped tmd for $498)...and like you?....still love it to this day! :)

Okay, I wasn't going to say...but he got it at the Cycle Gear Clearance Center in El Cajon, CA for a smoking, smoking deal. Plus...they give you 20% more off when you make your first purchase from them...(as a clearance center).

Okay, okay...stop twisting my arm!!! I bought another one, too...another RF-1000. Damn if I don't have nine freakin' helmets. My name is Scar and I am a shopaholic.

Bash Money. Sounds so ominous!

Good idea on her part. The Scorpion will work nicely for you as a 'temp'.

Did I mention earlier that I love your wife? What's that? I did? Well, forgive me for being consistent and sincere!

Sounds like you're dialed, brother!!! Now...off to the bash with you and your phat grip o' Bash Cash!!!
