Took the loaner BMW for a nice 600km ride in all sorts of weather,rain being for the most part and started drying out towards the end of the road. Felt awesome riding something different as the steering felt weird at first. Has all the usual goodies and doesn't look 8 years old, BMW digital dash being a $3k option makes it look modern.
I'd rate it 8.5 out of 10 and almost tempted to trade in the Blue Gen 2 and 01 TLR for it.

I went out today in my dirt bike with five others...absolutely mint day, beautiful scenery, clear winter weather.. cold but pretty nice!
Trailered my bike 138kms, then rode 45kms to the lake, had lunch and rode a 4wd track for 22kms, lots of massive puddles and heaps of mud.
Never fell off, but the guy on the Ducati fell and busted a mirror and a blinker, 17” front wheel with a giant knobbly tire and 120 hp at the wheel... it was always gonna happen lmao!!

I really love the look of that bike
Got to see one in the dealership the other day they have on clearance for 10k, aside from a gen 3 I think that'd be top of my list for another bike.
Took the Bumblebee out for a 100 or so mile rip on the back roads. Found one road that if the pavement was decent and the corners slightly banked would have been outstanding....there were lots of complex twisties and great scenery...
Too bad the pavement was wrought with potholes and frost heaves.....
It is a beautiful day out there...I don't think I got over 70mph the whole ride...it was just nice to be out in the wind....

That's my favorite spot...getting in to see the good stuff...Short due to weather / flooding. Actually got into back rooms with owner to see cool stuff

When I was in Bosnia we were confiscating weapons and had seacans full of weapons...when the Intelligence guys were going in to do inventory, they'd give me a call and I'd go in to play with all the different weapons..
Each seacan had a theme-one was AK variants, one was GPMG, one was pistols, one was rocket launchers, one was vintage weapons (Tommy guns, M-1s, etc and some still had packing grease on them)....
Once the seacans got full,, the weapons would go to a local smelter and be cut up....I honestly had tears in my eyes sometimes watching these get cut up....

I was checking status on a pistol ordered a few months ago . New kid did not know me when I was asking about it . The owner called from the back for me to come back lol . The kid had a WTF look lol
I love it when they have those looks....
One time while I was deployed in theater, I reported directly to a general....he got a new aid (Major rank) who was an "pompous, arrogant" cuss and gave me a real hard time when I asked to see the general...
The general overheard the Major giving me grief and stormed out of his office telling the Major that each and every time I come into this office, he wants to see me even if he was with the Afghan Chief of Staff..
I never had a problem after that...it felt good to see "that look" on the Major's face...
Another great day out on the DRZ400 with some great mates!
