I so much wanted this bike. Instead bought a Yamaha MT-10
Although the MT10 has a few more ponies it is best compared to the regular Z900. It cost more too. Since I already had the Busa I was looking for a ‘standard’ to replace the CBX.

You certainly lucked out with that bike...it's a beauty....I rode the ol' K model to work today and made a mirror bracket to replace the snapped stock mirror mount on the left side.
A new mirror is priced at 450 euros on ebay, outrageous amount.
Here's a few pics.

I do actually have the rubber boot that covers the bracket.

Short 110 miles ride on the DR650 with the baton in tow in my tail bag. Florida is growing at an outrageous pace and the amount of new neighborhoods that have replaced wooded areas is mind blowing. The amount of dead wildlife is heart breaking and proof of the increased flow of vehicles too. I lost count, but We’ll over 50 carcasses. opossums, raccoons, armadillos, alligators, deers and the list goes on.

Still with me. Just been riding with it lately. I’m sure I’ll never haul it around for, as many miles as, @c10 did but I’ll put a couple of hundred before shipping it across the border to @BumblebeeWhere did you take the baton to?
The highest elevation my gps read through the 110 miles I rode was 170ft.View attachment 1652076

I got in 182 Smiles today from here to Shaver lake and Huntington lake somewhere above 7,000’. Warm/hot down here but 60s up high. Beautiful day all around. Only saw a handful of bikes including two non waving Hawg riders and a two up FJR. Always surprises me to see so few bikes on the road. Rode thru some fire ravaged areas on the north side of Huntington lake. Lots happening to get rid of the burnt trees and clear the land of more ‘kindling’. I managed almost 45 mpg paying over $25 for 4.111 gallons.

I have always wondered what this area looked like 100s or 1000s of years ago. I can pull the grass up on my yard and is pure sand under it. The mining area where the drag line is on the pic i posted above is full of small shark teeth and some people have shark teeth “hunting” as a hobby. It wouldn't take too much to wipe us out down here.Although you guys at or near sea level in Florida have your own issues with hurricanes, here, when the tsunami hits I’ll have a good chance at beach property at 2,200’. Only takes me 20 minutes to get a mile high…w/o any drugs! Since I can’t swim worth a damn, at my elevation I’ll probably survive. At the lakes I rode to today, the first shot of the Busa in the shade with water behind is Shaver lake around 5,600’. It’s dam is to the right. The really blue calm lake shot and the pontoon boat is Huntington lake at about 7,500’, about 23 more miles east from Shaver lake. It has four dams!

View attachment 1652099The burnt forest shots are mostly on the north side of Huntington lake. Shaver is also a lil town with less than 2,000 people. Luckily the fire bypassed it and burned all the way down the mountain around and below.
First ride on the VFR for a while. Nothing sounds like this engine. I get the visceral response that I need from this bike.

How does the VFR compare the Busa? When I was looking to upgrade from a CBR 300, it was between these two bikes.First ride on the VFR for a while. Nothing sounds like this engine. I get the visceral response that I need from this bike.
