Who Rode Today?

Rode down to my local race track, Cadwell Park expecting to watch a trackday, but the track had been given over to California Super bike school. Still a nice round 100 miles.

it's a narrow technical track and is on the British Superbike Calendar every August

When I got home I said to myself, "Self, you have never ridden both bikes on the same day. This is 'merica!" I was strongly and strangely compelled, and now I know why. It was information from above. I turned the key on the VFR. The fuel pump primed but then there was a complete outage. The battery is at 12.7 volts but turning the key on the voltage plummets all the way to zero. So another new battery coming up this year.

Went over the Dartford bridge into Kent for a 100 mile circuit, beautiful countryside only problem is this county is also slowing the speeds down to 40-50 mph instead of 60 which is starting to spoil the ride so I went of the beaten track where they seem to have left the speed limits alone and found some lovely road's

Got out for a nice ride this morning, it was a beautiful morning, no wind and just enough cloud cover to not melt you..

I got out to a very long straight and abandoned road and lit the Bumblebee up....the speedo was at 300 and when I let off, there was a long pause before the needle started moving so I must have been moving pretty quickly....(first time to have gone that fast on the thing but it was rock steady).

Stopped by a gas station and met a fellow on a 650 Strom which was fully kitted out. He said he and a few guys started a club where they go into the logging roads and camp over night while plotting different routes....he absolutely loves it.

I stopped by a former colleague of mine who bought a tractor I wanted to check out...his neighbor was visiting him (on a tractor) so I kind of came into their conversation.

The farmer sold a field a couple years ago due to needing a bit of fast cash and really regrets it now. There was a small subdivision built on it and the residents feel they can go into his crop fields anytime they want with ATVs and the like...he said they have walking paths made in them now...he put up fences but find them cut, he put up cameras at the spots the cut and the cameras disappear...I told him my former colleague and I will patrol his perimeter fence line in ATVs and protect his assets...he laughed at that but we didn't...he has a relative in a quarry and had decided to put big frig off rocks all around the field..it won't be cheap but he will save in the long run...I said it is ironic he sold the property only to spend money on defending his other property...

I got in almost 400 miles this weekend, 169 yesterday on the Z and 182 today on the Busa. Two radar saves. Thanks Michael. Hadn’t been out in awhile due to the heat. Stopped for a Victory 106ci cruiser sitting all alone in a turnout right in the middle of the Golden Chain hiway. No one around for miles. The left side was smashed, foot leg pointing straight up but surprisingly it was leaning on the side stand. It was near a curve but nothing about the curve should’ve caused this even for an I’ll handling cruiser so? Today it was gone. I got passed by a couple of knee draggers heading south (up) the hiway on very loud KTMs. They were really haulin azz! A patched MC club member riding two up stopped where I was taking a break. No interaction and I couldn’t tell which club he was representing. Quite a few bikes out today but mostly cruisers.

Did about an hour of riding and 10 miles from home I saw a brand new GSXR 1000 behind me at the light. As soon as there was open highway, we took off. I was kind of surprised at how fast they are. We stopped and talked for a bit. It was a 2022 with 1500 miles.

Got out for about 45 miles on the Ultra. Start to feel more confident on it but still struggling with slow speed and stops. More seat time is in order. Gave my 7yo granddaughter a ride around the neighborhood. She starts screaming “ I love motorcycles “ lol. I think she had fun

Rode up to the local shop to have them order a new rear tire and they actually had one in stock. Rode back home to yank the wheel off and drove it back up there. Said it probably won't be ready until Wednesday though.
