Who Rode Today?

I got in 163 Smiles today on the Busa and only hit triple digits 2-3 times.:firing: My V1 saved me from a 90mph ticket. What a great investment! Rode past what used to be a nice lake. Now it’s almost gone! This section of the Merced river was very low.

I got out for short but fun ride....it might be one of my last for the season as I have noted the weather is taking a nose dive over the next few weeks...

The leaves are changing quickly and many have changed and fallen already...

Beautiful shots there that you posted! Hey, I got an idea... if that Gen 2 of yours wants some good roads to ride on during the winter just ship it to my house and I will exercise it regularly on Polomar Mountain road for you. My acquaintance / motorcycling friend that lives at the bottom of Mt Polomar has about a 150+ motorcycles stored in his collection and having a nice Gen 2 there would make a nice visitor every now and then.

Just kidding!

Take State Road 76 east to road 6 ( left turn ) up to Canfield Rd. Canfield goes left and Road 7 goes right at the intersection.
A common point where many motorcyclist like to meet is right there where a store is on Canfield. The CHP came up there a while back after people complained about motorcycles and posted the whole road at 30 mph. Maybe a half dozen people live on this road. We still have fun though... The CHP can't be everywhere. Last time I was up there I stopped at the bottom of the hill and chatted with two sport bike guys that I met up with later at the top. They said the road was free of CHP officers as far as they knew... which wasn't very far as I found out right away. I sped away from them and was moving right along and approaching the first turn about 250 yards away when I saw the CHP in his Ford Explorer coming around the first turn. As soon as I saw him I hit the brakes immediately and within a few seconds his dashboard mounted KA band radar was tripping my new Gen 2 Valentine detector. I was already legal at that point... I saw his black SUV with the white door seconds before his radar gun could get a reading off of me. Hmmm... that was kinda close... glad I saw him when I did. Never saw another CHP that day... about 40 riders were at the top so the fun conversations were non stop.

I am going to have to make a video going up the hill some day after I buy another memory card because I can't find the one I already bought after I moved last year. The good riding season is just beginning here... nice and cool... rain and maybe some snow in December that will fade quickly.

I got in a 190 Smile loop today on the Busa. Great weather and virtually no traffic thru five counties. Gassed up at exactly 190 miles and my low fuel light had been on since 163. Took on 4.852 gallons and that’s in the CA. five gallon tank. 89 octane was $5.819 I think. Cutting it close but I know I have a solid gallon left when my light comes on so depending on how fast I ride I know I have at least 35 miles left. That figures to just a tick over 39 mpg for the day and just over $28 for gas! Damn!!! $28+ for a four hour jaunt….I think I’ll take the Z out tomorrow. It averages 46+. BTW, I passed by a (corner with a nice sky view a hundred miles away) for anyone playing the ‘game’.

Woke up this morning to lovely sunshine and dry roads, so jumped straight up and out for an unexpected ride
Went into the dengie area of Essex through the infamous Burnham bends , which was good fun, over to Bradwell neclear power station and along the river blackwater back home 102 miles

Was going to ride to work this am and test out the data logger, packed up the bike got ready to leave then looked at the phone one last time………..Rain headed my way. So I took the truck

I was riding through a neighborhood and off to the right around the sidewalk area was a handful of traffic safety cones. I was coming to a stop sign but was barely able to read the facing cone as I passed it. It seemed to show, "BEES! BEES! BEES! BEES!". I think I misread it. I stopped at the stop sign and looked behind me at the back side and sure enough it says that. There is a large tree there on the corner not far away. I look underneath it, taking a few seconds for my eyes to adjust from the brightness of a full sun to the shadowy underside of the tree. I quickly see a number of bees flying around. The total number must be a lot more than I quickly see. I faced forward, pulled the throttle, and turned left back toward the main road, quickly leaving this neighborhood.

About to make a ride out to Rudy’s on 249 for breakfast tacos. My cousin may join on his Road King but probably just be solo. So anyone in this area come join if you feel froggy.
