571 miles yesterday . 3,894 last month ( October ) 14,xxx for year so far . Bike out of service 12 days this year for parts .
571 in a day? And here I thought going 33 miles to work was far lol. We need to go ride some time brother, now that I have cruise control and my hands don’t hurt 5 min in.

@FtLaudBlkGT and I woke up this morning and hit the road and somehow ended up in the keys. Love riding with no destination! He brought out his Gen 1 on this trip after installing an RC Components 240 kit this past weekand let the gen 2 sleep . We decided to break it in a bit!

I tried to ride yesterday but my ankle is not healed enough for that yet. I think I’m a few weeks out still. No pictures other than the bike sitting still with the new air cleaner on it.

I did change out the baffles in the pipes. There was a 10 decibel difference in sound at just an idle. I like the aggressive sound but it’s a bit too loud. I’ll try putting some packing inside the mufflers and see if that helps it some.

You definitely want good strong ankles to hold that big 'ol green buffalo up....

I rode yesterday to a private instruction gun range. Almost passed the US air marshal drill with a micro compact on irons .
My good frienr Aaron a former 10 year Royal Marine passed it and was super elated. My middle son has come home from the Marines , and made the day with us . Another USMC Sean brought some interesting rifle drills to the table .
The two US Marines rang steel @ 100 yards with pistols ( 1911 45 acp ) and a 2011 Staccato in 9mm .
We marched out to 400 yards and rang steel with the bigger bolt guns . Intentions to goo 800 and then 1000 but day light was not with us for it .
Rode today to get wife's meds for after surgery. @ 15,xxx for the year now .

I could only imagine how many cops would be chasing me if I had a rifle strapped to my bike like that....

Sounds like a good day....we had a saying that went "an average day on the range beats an awesome day in the office any day"

Handguns

People in Texas must carry a handgun in a holster. The holster does not have to be a shoulder or belt holster. Before HB 1927 took effect on September 1st, 2021, people in Texas needed to have a license to carry a handgun and they needed to keep their handgun in a shoulder or belt holster.
Section 46.02 of the Texas Penal Code requires a handgun to be carried in a holster, but it does not provide a definition of the word "holster."

Texas Laws

  • Section 46.02 of the Texas Penal Code
This section sets the age limit for carrying a handgun, lists which convictions disqualify someone from carrying a handgun, and lists other limitations. It sets out the requirement that handguns must be carried in a holster. It also discusses how handguns can be carried in certain motor vehicles and watercrafts.
  • Section 46.035 of the Texas Penal Code
This section discusses several situations and places in which the carry of a handgun by a license-holder may be prohibited. It also mentions the requirement to carry a handgun in a holster. Note: In 2021, HB 1927 repealed this statute and moved the content to other sections of the Penal Code. However, three other new laws in 2021 added language to this section. Some of that language may be effective in certain situations.

Understanding the Law

As this article from NOLO (a legal publisher) explains, even after the new 2021 law takes effect,
[...] it is still a crime in Texas to display a handgun on purpose in a public place, in another person's plain view, unless the gun is holstered.
  • Texas Gun Laws on Open and Concealed Carry
This article discusses the carry of firearms in Texas. It provides a list of convictions that disqualify a person from having a firearm and a list of places where firearms are banned. The article is provided by NOLO, a legal publisher.

Long Guns

Texas law does not specifically say how you can carry a long gun such as a rifle or shotgun. However, some people are prohibited from owning or possessing any firearm by law. See the Owning and Possessing section of this research guide for more information.

Disorderly Conduct

Texas's "disorderly conduct" law also regulates how people can carry a firearm.
Section 42.01 of the Texas Penal Code says:
(a) A person commits an offense if he intentionally or knowingly: [...] (8) displays a firearm or other deadly weapon in a public place in a manner calculated to alarm;

Well, you ARE in Texas where you get a gun when you open a new bank account right?
