Who Rode Today?

Got a bit today.

I got in 159 cold miles today. Never got over 50 degrees. Lots of sand and debris on the roads due to the recent rains/floods. All the low lands had several new ‘lakes’ and one of my fav roads was closed due to a sinkhole.

Slowed for a herd of goats roaming thru a lil historic town called Hornitos. Musta been 3-4 dozen of em! Almost hit a beef critter running along a nice two lane on the wrong side of the fence. He got spooked but thankfully jumped and ran away from the pavement just as I passed. Could’ve had a very different outcome if he’d jumped toward the road, it happened that fast. Lots of dead skunks in the roads too. Never seen so many.

Sadly, potholes, hundreds of them, dotted many of the country roads. The heavy rain and hail storms really did a number on them. CalTrans were out at 5-6 locations repairing the roads. My 15 year old (but seldom used) heated gloves worked, but not as good as I remembered. Can’t say I’m a fan of cold riding anymore. I don’t seem as relaxed and connected to the bike when it’s frigid and the roads are terrible. Simple freeway cruising might be ok although boring, but not much fun in the foothills when it’s so cold.

Took the touring scoot for a 1000km run with a friend. Handles extremely well with the Ohlins and I’m sure even better once the BST’s turn up.

All you guys posting pics of your Hayabusa’s with rear luggage makes me look forward to the weekends so I can try to get in a couple hundred miles. It’s not as good as your rides but I do enjoy my 3/4 day rides. Keep posted your pics. Love Pashnit’s photos.

Possibly but do you have a photo?

When I was building my 69 Camaro I was planning to paint it Hugger Orange but my wife said please don’t so I painted it Lemans Blue.

I'm sorry, it's a 2009, not 2010.
It's a one year and Canada only color.
I've never seen it in person, but years ago 2 org members had them, and the color looked much better in their photos than these generic pictures.
It has a flake like sparkle to it, as many of the gen2 paint schemes did over the years(except the orange/black 08, lol)
It's gold, but to me has an orangish color.
Much lighter than the 2008 one year only orange/black, which I think was a U.S only color, and were the most common where I live back then.

It was 48 degrees and did a twenty mile ride to test out the helibars. I don’t know why I waited so long to get them because they make a noticeable difference when in comfort. It’s also been over a month that I haven’t taken the bike out and I had completely forgot the acceleration of the Busa. (I daily a 4 cyl base model Jetta which is pretty slow)

Wait, your Jetta won't keep up to your Hayabusa? I find that shocking.....

Rubb had one of these back in the day. Definitely not a common colour. I was looking at one myself in 2010, low mileage used at a bike shop in Toronto.

The orange/black wasn't just a US colour, BTW. They were offered worldwide and seem to be the most common version that year. Heck, I own one right now! :firing:

If someone's looking, here's an overpriced one:
