Who Rode Today?

I just think I'd of kept the katana but a long as your enjoying it and giving us some good feedback about this one we won't hold it against u too much

It may seem weird to trade a Katana in on a GT seeing that they're essentially the same bike but it's the differences that made me do it... mostly the properly-sized fuel tank (19L/5gal vs 12L/3.2gal) and a subframe designed for (and factory-equipped with) luggage. I had started setting the '08 'Busa up for touring but ultimately my aging body said no, so with my (aching) hand forced the GT just made all kinds of sense. It could only be a better tourer if it had the lazy torque of the big 'Busa engine but the K5 Gixxer mill is no slouch either. Time (and distance) will tell if I made the right choice. :)

A 15L tank is pretty much useless....What was Suzuki thinking there I wonder?

The GT makes sense as Suzuki was sorely lacking in the sport touring department.

If I knew what was wrong with it, it would be working, lmao
It just decided not to work, and at the worst time, lol
It is plugged in, but I havn't had a chance to check anything yet.
I kind of figured it'd be one of those times where you had just forgot to connect it after putting everything back together. I've done it a few by luckily only one on a customers bike that was somewhat of an acquaintance so not a big deal when he had to bring it back.

We did.. Day 2 of a 9 day trip. Following the east coast around. Today was rain, heavy rain, wind, gale force wind, sun, and repeat.

Safely made it to the hotel for the night. On the road again after a good sleep tomorrow.

Still at it. Day 8 of 9. Another 500ks today. Up and over Kosciuszko Nat Park and thru the high snow country. Topped out about 1700mts above sea level. Then down thru the big hydro electric Snowy Mountains area. Lots of ups and downs and twisties. Bike is filthy, but running strong. Tomorrow is the run home.

Did close to 150 miles today and averaged 37.6 miles to the gallon. Wachula, fort Meade, Arcadia, frostproof, lake wales, etc. perfect day with temp. At 67’F when I left the house. Ran into some short sections of road with dense fog but was in and out in no time. Almost nailed an armadillo. F150 in front of me slams on the brakes hard for no apparent reasons so I cautiously grab brakes trying to slow down fast enough but without losing traction on the wet road and then F150 swerves and from the back side of it comes and armadillo!!! Little bugger was standing in the middle of the road and f150 was able to put it in between tires and missed it but I was going straight for it. Locked rear brakes for a second and then realized I need to release some brake and swerve. Missed the little guy by inches. Will try to get footage from dash cam but I’m sure the lens was pretty wet from the fog I had just ran through.

I picked this up last weekend to replace a similar rig that I sold 5 years ago. It had been parked for quite a while so I've been going through the fluids, etc, to make sure all is well. Rear brake is metal-on-metal but I took it out for a short shake-down ride anyway to see how it ran... carbs are a bit fluffy but I think they'll clear out with the fresh gas and some miles... I'd almost forgotten the joys of an evil-handling motorcycle. Good fun!

I know all them little towns you listed, I’m heading to Floral City tomorrow and possibly Bellsview. Planning on 170ish miles. Riding with a couple of Harley friends.
