Who Rode Today?

Was actually yesterday and haven't had a chance to post until now. First ride in . . . we'll just say a while and it only lasted about 15 minutes, but felt good. At the same time, it felt a bit uncomfortable and required a lot of thought to do the basic things. Guess that will be my motivation. Didn't have enough time to take any pics while out, but did take one before I left.

I got out for a decent ride today but man, it was hot out there....even moving wouldn't cool me off...I got stuck at a road side construction flag person and just about melted....

Even my feet were sweaty by the time I got home....

And then I look at the forecast for tomorrow and it's much, much cooler and rain is coming for the weekend.

With road construction all over the place, getting frisky in the corners wasn't a good idea as there seemed to be sand and gravel on each and every corner....

New front tire on today and the Harley crew aren’t talking about riding so I’m gonna rip around on the Busa.
Today when picking up the bike there was a lot of brake drag or something rubbing up front. So bad that I didn’t even get out of the parking lot, so I pulled back in and asked if it was test ridden. The tech comes back out to say he went around the block to which I told him was bull poop or his helmet was the best ever at being quiet. I told him go again in front of me and he didn’t get 20’ before saying “let me go look at it but that’s normal”. 25mins later I get called into the shop to see the bike with a jack under the header to barely get the wheel up. He spins it and says “see that’s normal”. This time tho it’s clearly corrected and noticeably quieter, I told him that’s normal but it wasn’t before. Also told him I hope we don’t have any exhaust leaks going forward or we know where they came from. Long time service writer there tried to make nice but I told him “that guy doesn’t do my tires anymore”.
So now looking for a manual tire a machine and good front stand. Opinions and suggestions are appreciated
The rabaconda sport bike tire machine looks pretty cool, I haven't used one but talk to a guy that has one and he said it works real well for him. I got lucky and was able to pick up a used tire machine from a guy that was replacing his in his shop and it only cost 500. If you keep an eye on marketplace you can come across decent used machines for around 5-600 dollars of you have the room and the air setup already that's definitely the way to go.

Me! It’s been 2&1/2 months since I was diagnosed with lung cancer, one month since returning from my five state 2,444 mile tour, three weeks since my surgery where 1/3rd of my right lung was removed, 18 days since my release from the hospital and one week since the drain tube was removed from my chest. So, I thought I’d go for a lil 128 mile ride. My energy level is still pretty low so not surprisingly just a 128 mile ride felt like I’d been riding all day! Bumpy roads almost did me in. Very painful. Still feels kinda loose inside and boy did I appreciate a smooth road. Probably shouldn’t have taken a ride. I’ve been trying to wean myself off the oxycodone even though I’ve only been taking them for a few weeks. In addition, stopping smoking after 55 years of non filter Camels isn’t a walk in the park either.

Only saw six bikes, five were Harley baggers. Two were coming up the Golden Chain hiway where I was stopped at the top. They rode right by w/o so much as a wave. Nice talkin to ya I muttered as they passed…Weather was fine with a cloud covered sky like the pic below.

I wish I could have rode. Weather has calmed down. My 1year old battery went tots up so I am biting the bullet on a SX power 1000cca lithium battery. Hard to hit the buy now button at over 700 bucks though.

Damn, one year old? Maybe your charging system isn’t up to par? Surprisingly the OEM battery in my 2018 Z900RS is still going after 25,000+ miles. How many starts would that be? :) Before my trip thru Monument Valley a few months back with my son I replaced it with a new Scorpion just in case it took a crap in the middle of nowhere. It didn’t. I put it back in and so far it’s still working. I put the new one on a tender every few weeks to keep it charged because I want to see just how long the original battery lasts. The new Scorpion shows a green light after just a couple minutes. I also put a new Scorpion in the Busa before that trip as the old lithium battery went bad far too early for an expensive lithium battery. When the Z battery finally does go bad locally I’ll just call my tow service to take me home and then I’ll change it for the new Scorpion.

I’ve had good luck with this company over the years. Take a look before you hit the buy it now button.
