Your 1 stop post for all the info...

hey Moondog, when are you guys heading up? I'm gonna be stopping in Conway AR to visit friends on the drive out, probably get there on wed the 17th and head out on thursday morning for CO. Let me know, maybe we can follow each other out there

zukracer, we are leaving thursday am also, let's hook up! I grew up in Denver and lived there until 2000 so believe me, I've got this trip down. It takes 12 hours to get to my folks house in Denver and then another 2 or so to Copper. That is unless we decide to stop at Shotgun Willies for a cold one and some entertainment...

Woohooo Shotguns!!! Might be a little tough to roll up there with the trailers, have to represent with the Busas.

Ya, baby...that's what I'm talking about!

by the way, our group just went to 6 for sure's and 2 more maybe's. This trip could have the makings for a screenplay....Fear and Loathing, on Busa's, In Copper Mountain....(without the drugs, of course)

I'm there Moondog.

I'm heading to Conway AR on wed to see some friends so we'll have to hook up somewhere there and roll the rest of the way out there.

Well looks like we are getting people lined up and everything next big thing will probly be planning some group events to happen cause that will most definatly be needed and I suppose we will also have some smaller groups breaking off and doing there own thing

i agree midnightbusainSD some group events would be cool. Maybe a shopping trip for the ladies, a nudie bar TOUR for the guys(and ladies i guess if thats your style) maybe a double up ride only-a trip where u can your time with a passenger? or maybe break some groups down into riding styles-aggresive, just touring, and i ride my busa like a harley haha
these ideas make any sense? any input?

I definately like the idea of group events, however we also need to consider the cyclefest events when making plans.

For example, I think I want to try a couple of different bikes during the "test rides" and definately wanna check out some of the other things that were on the schedule on their site. I think we can either do a group ride ourselves or ride as a group as part of the cyclefest tours. Evening events are definately doable, even if we just attend something local, hit a bar, do the boobie bar tour (i'm in for that btw) or whatever. Chances are we are going to be a bit worn out by Sat night so we might wanna make the "big plans" for Friday night

Things are moving along nicely... Still got sometime to wait and see the who's coming when. Then I agree we should try and line out at least the following...
1. Meet up times and places Daily (So as folks arrive and get settled they no where to go and hook up with everyone. Since not everyone is coming I assume the same day, this should be a daily ritual.
2. A way to communicate to the group by phone (someplace to leave a message) I'll try and arrange something with the front desk. Just in case a fellow Org member experience bike/truck/car problems within driving distance of the Meet we can lend a hand....
3. Contact personal info if you want to share we could put together a list and mail it out! This would include at least a Cell phone number... Makes communicating a lot easier especially when we have groups staying at a couple of different locations. I will provide my cell phone number for everyone to have just prior to the event. That would take care of the Resort, I'm sure we can get a volunteer for the folks camping to do the same. Easier to relay info between the sites with just a couple of folks involved. We could then pass the info along to the rest of the members on the phone list.
4. These are just ideas, nothings in stone.....

zukracer, you will most likely be coming across 40 out of Conway and heading up 540 which runs right into Fayetteville. Best way to go. From here, it's all good road, most of it at 75 mph limit. Are you riding? If so, you will want to cut off and take the "pig trail" instead of 540, kind of our "deals gap" (sp) around here. With the additions to our group, we may have to go to two trailers. In that case we would have room if you want to trailer her for awhile. One thing everyone needs to know is once ya get up to Copper, I don't think anyone will want to make the journey back to Denver, 4 to 5 hrs r/t, too much to do and see up in the high country.....I'm not aware of any "gentlemans clubs" up there....but plenty to do. However, if you give me a dollar, I will take my shirt off

One last thing, anyone coming across Arkansas is welcome to stay at my house, we will make room....

Hey Moondog, I'm actually planning on trailering out there or putting it in the back of the truck
wink.gif
I hear parking the trailer could be a pain possibly so I might get the ramps and go that way. Sounds like we'll have to nail down a meeting place/time and can follow each other out.

KS, I agree we should firm up some times/places to meet up. In previous large events I've helped plan with the avalanche owners group, we usually set a tentative schedule and collect a phone list for all attendees. The phone list also includes emergency contact information, which considering the distances travelled and relative risk involved I would HIGHLY recommend this for this event. I'll volunteer to spearhead the list if you'd like. We usually print up some type of schedule and leave it at the central meeting location (hotel front desk or similar) so anyone thats running late can always find the group.

The other side of that coin is that if we set a schedule of events, we need to try and stick to it. Past experiences with this where the group falls off schedule have usually caused problems with anyone attempting to meet the group. If we actually have 50+ busa owners and another probably 20+ other riders, there's probably not much chance for everyone to follow the same agenda..... so a good timeline will be key if folks want to just catch the events that interest them

I'll help out anywhere I can

oh yeah, Moondog, Denver is only a day's drive right?
rock.gif
I'm hoping to be in Copper friday morning/mid day for the beginning of the event

KS and Zuk I will be in Copper on Wednesday so whatever I can do to prepare for everyones arrival let me know. My wife and I will trailer our bikes out on Wed and her and I are going to do some riding just the 2 of us on Thurs and Friday weather permitting, but the weekend for the event is open for us.

I would highly suggest watching the AMA SuperMoto races either on Sat or Sun they are definitely worth it. If you have never seen a dirt bike completely sideways in a controlled slide on asphalt you have to come see it.

Everybody that is involved in the planning you are doing a great job and the wife and I can not wait for Aug, keep up the great work and let me know If I can do anything to help.

zukracer, Denver is only 12 hours from Fayetteville, if we left early Thursday am we would be in Copper Thursday evening, even with messing around on the way. I do this drive about 4 times a year to see my folks. Copper is another 75 miles from Denver...pretty easy drive, really...

Denver is only 1.5 hours from Copper, so not that far but far enough that we would probably not want to run back down there more than once.

The SuperMoto is a must watch in my opinion. The demo rides fill up fast so if you are there on Friday I would suggest doing them that day since there are less people on that day. Otherwise plan on showing up at the demo booths as early in the morning as possible.

One thing we might try is hitting up Black Hawk/Central City where the casinos are for anyone that would interested in that. There are about 45 minutes from Copper.

One event I was thinking about was maybe having a Texas Hold Em tournament one night, $10 buy in and pay out 50%, 30% and 20% to 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Let me know if anyone is interested and I will bring my chips.

texas holdem sounds good thunder i plan on being down on thursday night i wana hit some demo rides so i think mabey friday there should be some events planned around that and possible the event around the supermotocross for both days cause i'm sure not everyone will wana watcha do the same things at the same time as everyone else

Thier site is still down what are the dates? Midnightbusainsd when are you going down and are you running 90 to 25 then into Denver and are you riding or trailoring?

I definitely want to check out the bike races (paddock pass), see the girls, test ride a bike, see the girls, do a couple of guided rides, see the girls, hang with fellow Busa owners, see the girls, a ride to a casino sounds like fun, seeing some girls would be pretty cool... hey I'm in for just about anything as long as its fun.
KS, is there a plan in place to purchase 3-day and paddock passes thru here or are we on our own thru the Cyclefest page?

Got some folks already, keep the info coming. Please dont forget to include where you are staying and a name/number for an emergency contact person. The ABSOLUTE last thing in the world we want to do is call them but its even worse to have to say, "dunno who you are but so&so ran off the road and got hurt"

Also please let me know if your "registered" email address (the one the PMs come from) is different than the one you want the list sent to prior to the event.
