08 Stolen today

Tak I couldn't have said it better.

That was a super nice/clean looking Busa. They always look best when left stock with a few nice upgrades like that one. By the way, where did you get those painted upper side fairing panels? Those look incredible, just noticed that.

Those are/were from Race Ready, they did a fantastic job on them. I will do the same on the new Busa, which ever color I decide on. I want another Blue 08 but I want it to be new so I will probably end up with an 09 Gray/Silver. Insurance company has already started with the B.S., I have rental coverage (45/1500) so they told me to go rent a Busa...yeah right who in thier right mind is going to do that was my words to them. So I get a call last night that I can rent a car but at 30 a day is all they are going to authorize, told her try again the coverage is 45 a day, so the wench has the gall to tell me that they arent going to pay for an Escallade, I tell her I wasn't asking for that but at the same time I don't expect a Chevy Aveo either. My agent has been outstanding, he has called everyday to find out how I'm being treated by the Claims folks, he also go the rental car situation straightened out, he told me the claims people will try to low ball everything.

Say what you like about some of the middle eastern countries, but if you get caught stealing there they cut your damn hands and/or arms off. This country has turned soft. In most states you cannot shoot the theives or you will spend time in prison while they will be ridding your bike.

Know exactly how you feel!

Remember when my KZ1000 was taken was a total state of shock!

Thank's again guys I appreciate your support. The weather couldn't be any better for riding this weekend, this is killing me! My only consellation is that as soon as I get my settlement I'm going Busa shopping once again! Wish I could find a new 08 Blue but that's wishful thinking. In reality probably will get 09 Black or Gray. I just hope the bastards that stole my bike rot in hell.

BusaMax, I know you are mad over your stolen bike but hopefully the insurance will get you straight very soon.

I hate to ask at a time like this but can you give me more info on 'Race Ready' and those nice painted upper side fairing panels?

No problem Bigdog5, I know it's all going to work out soon enough. Here's the link to Race Ready:

What I did to save me from having downtime while the fairings were being painted is I bought another set of inners and meter panels and sent those in. If they have some cores in stock they will send you the painted parts first then you replace and send the stock ones in to get the core fee back. I wanted to keep my stock inners because I'm anal about things like that so I just purchased a set of used panels off of ebay and sent those in, here's the link for used panels:

eBay Store - sportbike parts: motorcycle motors, motorcycle frames, suzuki hayabusa parts

Plan on doing the same for the new Busa!

It's been a week and I couldn't take it anymore so I put down a deposit on a new 09 today! Grey/Silver is going to be my new color!

congrats on your new purchase. Hopefully Ins takes care you soon

My 08 was stolen today at work between 10:30 and 11:15 this morning. 10:30 was the last time one of my co-workers saw it and 11:15 is when I discovered it stolen. So much for the Scorpio alarm/pager because that didn't stop the thieving bastard for taking it....it never went off! U.S. Government building and no freakin outside security cameras just inside to watch the employees (LEOs). My only consolation is that I have a good insurance policy and I will be able to get another Busa if this one isn't found, it still hurts, upset would be about the mildest word to describe how I feel. I know that if she isn't recovered in the next 24 hours she's never going to be found, the bastards are probably parting her out now.

Sorry to hear about your bike bro, hope the insurance takes care of you well.

I'm curious as to how they managed to get past your alarm? I don't have a Scorpio, but something similar and pretty confident they will not get my bike as long as I am within pager contact. If they get my bike with my pager being out of range, it will take them a while to figure out how to silence the alarm and get this thing started.

Did you have a microwave perimeter sensor on the alarm?

According to the insurance company and police, no alarm or even lo-jack will prevent a theft. The thieves were able to turn my alarm off using a FM transmitter similar to the way they defeat garage door openers. What they most likely did is go up to the bike prior to stealing it to see if it had an alarm (it has gone off before at work with the perimeter set) then they sit out in the parking lot and a use their "tool" to figure out the frequency of the alarm. And yes the perimeter was on, in fact the pager is still showing the alarm is on. Once they load it in their van, the thieves will remove the seat and cut the battery cables to silence the alarm unless you have a back up, then what they do is tear the bike apart looking for the alarm. According to HPD and HCSO (Houston), there is a ring going around that uses a van lined with insulation just for the purpose of stealing bikes, they don't care about tearing up fairings, all they want is the motor and anything else they don't destroy in the act that will bring them money. Is an alarm worthless? No, but it won't stop a professional thief/theives. Will my new Busa have an alarm? don't think so if they want it they are going to get it either way, I will just make sure I don't park in the same place again. Since my misfortune the higher ups have decide to let us park our motorcycles in the secure area with the government vehicles....one Hayabusa to late! Sorry for the long post:banghead:

Unless you have eyes on your bike and are armed, they can get your bike, sad but 100% true. I am a LEO and when mine was taken there were approximately 30 of us armed in the building, no one saw so no one could act, alarm was on but was defeated, hence if they want it bad enough they will get it alarm or not. I hope that no one else has to go through this but the fact is it will happen. Sorry once again for the rant.

a bike is a bike. yea i love some of mine more than others, but they are just bikes. way to get on with life.

enjoy the new ride.:beerchug:

oh yea p.s. thieves suck, sorry for the loss, insurance bla bla bla, exct. ......

I dont think that this is entirely true. If it were, why would insurance companies give discounts for having anti-theft devices like alarms?

Sorry to hear about your bike. If you can, post the VIN on here so we can keep a look out for it. I'm all the way in NC, but with thieves you never know where it could surface to be sold. You see alot of frames & sub frames on Craigslist and if all of us from all over happen to see it they are busted! If we knew the VIN we could see if it was a match. I would love to bust these punks.
