The only reference I found about the cost, was an estimate from an "un-named source in the know". This person works at a hotel in India. I guess we are outsourcing White House trip planning to India now.

I completely agree. Why did he have to "bribe" other Democrats? They sat there for the past 8 years and learned first hand how to ram something down the people's throat...you'd think they'd have gotten it. I think it speaks more about the party, and how disorganized and spineless they are as whole than Obama. The people elected him on those issues that you're speaking of. Although I still think he could be doing a better job, he's doing what the people that elected him asked for. Why those other Democrats chose to ignore what the majority of the party asked for and elected him on...I don't know. I'm assuming that's why a good number of true voting Democrats jumped ship as well in this election. They were really soft and indecisive with the power that they held. I'll guarantee the Republicans won't do the Democrats any favors by bickering amongst themselves and holding up legislation that speaks directly to the foundation of their campaign and party beliefs.
Who knows. We'll see.

There really is an answer for this one. Republicans do a great job of speaking with one voice. Very simplistic but one voice.
Dems are a big tent. Obama never really had the majority. The blue dog dems (all have been now booted) were in states that were more red than blue. He never had their support. Dems in name only.
That said I do feel they wasted a lot of time on a Health Bill that is not as good as it could of been, took over 260 republican ideas and still did not get any republican votes. Too much butt kisses.

I think we are seeing who he truly is.

Honestly I hope all the politicians will work together and fix our country. I love my country and I have never ever pulled a straight ticket, but I sure didnt vote for him...

One big problem I see is that some voters have no idea who or what they vote for. Let me relate a story about something I witnessed yesterday.

We have round tables with these wooden partitions to sit at and do your voting but they really don't block much. I had this couple sit next to me and start looking at the ballots. The woman say's "I'm voting straight Democrat" the husband says "Well, I'm a Republican" She say's "No, your voting Democrat" he then does as she instructs. On the back of the ballots we had about 6 amendments to vote on, they flip them over and the woman says " I guess we should just vote yes on em all" and with that said they did. They were there maybe a total of 1 minute. I don't know, I like to read what I'm voting for or against but that's just me. I left there thinking OMG, they vote and honestly have no idea who or what they are voting for. Kinda left me feeling sick to my stomach like 2 yrs ago.

And there were lots of people 50-60 years that only registered to vote for the black candidate, they never cared one bit about patriotism until Obama came up. My son was working there and saw grown adults asking how to register to vote.....sad

health care bil that does not address the core of the problem, will never work. regardless of party, most americans are proud hard working people that don't want socialism, don't want handouts....they want jobs, a fair wage...we all want the american dream....

socialized health care does none of this. that is why it was a hard sell.

This type of thing has always been a problem in the US. It doesn't matter what age, race, religion or party some people are, they vote with emotions or jus-because rather than with knowledge. I remember seeing a person accuse the poll workers of trying to fix the election because their candidate was not on the ballot. After the he was told that the person had died two years earlier, he tore up his ballot sheet and walked out.

Because most site are reporting this trip as a vacation and not showing any real proof of the amount to be spent, I am just a little skeptical. If the reports are correct I will cry foul, but I will wait to pass judgement after the trip is over and we get the bill.

Congress has been democrat for 4 years, he was given two years get his policies in place. On Nov. 2, the country stood up and said:

1. stop blaming Bush
2. stop your socialist programs
3. fix the economy
4. stop spending

the people that elected Obama, and Congress have been speaking for the last year. we have had to listen to Barry and Nancy...even HArry tell us how, we don't understand, and how they know what is best for us.

and the they ignored the people......and on Nov 2,2010. The people spoke. If you listen to Reid he still wants to ignore us.

Barry campainged on "Hope and Change you can beleive in". He claimed to be the guy to cross the aisle and work with both Republicans and democrats. Maybe its time he actually does it. He has two years.....

Not to defend the trip but he is bringing heads of the Corp. world with him to work on bringing jobs back to the US and pull back the tide of out sourcing.

Why don't the talking heads like Rush, Beck, Bachmann etc. Why are they not held accountable when they out right lie.
