200 milion dollars a day vacation

Not to defend the trip but he is bringing heads of the Corp. world with him to work on bringing jobs back to the US and pull back the tide of out sourcing.

Why don't the talking heads like Rush, Beck, Bachmann etc. Why are they not held accountable when they out right lie.
I guess people like being lied to if it makes them feel justified.

fool me once...aint gonna be fooled again. ha

You won't bring jobs back to the US from India, when outsourcing those jobs that pay so much less in wages there (yet improves their standard of living) is the key driver of India's current economic growth.

What the media IS reporting is that $200MM may be inflated, BUT the White House does NOT disclose the actual cost due to security reasons. In any case I'd said it was a poor timing choice for this administration. Whether true or not, it will be retained in the voters memory.

Look at Obama now, willing to 'compromise'...because he has NO CHOICE. We'll see how this goes. Just as "anybody but Bush" was the Dems mantra for 2008, "Barry's got to go in 2012" is the Republicans this election cycle. Don't act so shocked that it's their (and MY) goal.

"Poor timing"

HELL YES! I agree, like the lady said in the town hall meeting, "I'm tired of defending him."

Where I differ on the guy is if he is a Democrat he needs to fight and not be so damn weak. Republicans are really good at fighting for what they believe.

Bush got a lot of stuff passed in his time even without the majority. Stuff I hated and lots of spending but he was a bully.

These jobs can be brought back by either closing loopholes or increasing taxes on corps that outsource jobs. But I guess you would never support those ideas because bring back outsourced jobs to the American people would hurt large corps.

Has the White House ever disclosed actual cost of trips? Then why should they now? Was it OK to take trips 3 years ago? 4Years ago? At what point will it be OK to take a trip?

It is very unfortunate that people believe and remember what was said the most and loudest whether it is true or not.

Three years ago republicans distanced themselves from Bush because people were disgusted with the same-old. This year democrats distanced themselves from Obama because people were tired of waiting for change. Compromise will have to come from both sides. If the Repubs just stall and don't come up with some viable solutions, 2012 may be a stale mate because people will tired and disgusted. 2012 maybe time for the dark horse independent.:cheerleader::cheerleader::cheerleader:

My goal will be to put the best person in. For the last decade it seem more like the lesser of 2 eveils, but I digress.:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Remember voting for a Republican or Tea Party AzzClown is no different than wanting to make history by voting for the black guy.:banghead::banghead:

The only way these jobs will be brought back is for American workers and American companies to OUTPERFORM those currently outsourcing...Economics 101. While some forms of protectionism in instances where another country is clearly manipulating the market (the Chinese by consistently pegging and discounting their currency to the dollar to keep exporting for example) may be warranted, in most cases it's counterproductive because the drive to innovate is lost. Look at how the unions have destroyed this country for example. A postive example is Dell; they outsourced their tech support to India, but have started bringing it back to the US because they didn't get the quality service their customers demanded regardless of the cost savings (Dell is non-unionized by the way).

No, the other Administrations didn't disclose either, but obviously this administration gave it's critics the ammo by doing so at such an inopportune moment...If you don't think the Dems would do same (and maybe even get some of those crazy code red people to throw paint or that fat slob make another movie - where did they all go, anyway?) if the situation was reversed you'd be naive....

True, which has played to the advantages of both parties over time..

Agree, but I think the Tea Party wins (obvious Conservative dissatisfaction with BOTH parties) is telling the Republicans that they are gonna have to make some hard, unpopular choices in BOTH parties and they'd better get with it. They aren't getting a carte blanche from me, either. I just believe their core values of limited government are sooo much better for our country in the long run than the Socialism ideal of the Dems.

I can't see how equating - "voting for the black guy" with ZERO experience running a business or making a payroll, ZERO private-sector experience, and ONE TERM as a congressman - yes ONLY because he was black - equates to many Tea Party candidates elected and who ran who actually HAVE run a business, HAVE made a payroll....

This reminds me of budget crunches at work... I have been the director of IT for some pretty darn big companies... When budgets started getting tight one of the things that was cut was travel... Why, cause a phone call can do just as good sometimes and send a message about the situation too.... This is going to sound a little odd but why will a conference call or video conference not suffice in this situation? Why drag hundreds of people across the world and spend all the money on this trip when you can pick up the phone? Not as glamarous for sure but you could start chipping away at the deficit if you started putting that money towards debt... Our debt is like the perverbial elephant, you can't eat it in one bite but if you nible away soon enough you will be down to the bone...

Because the rest world doesn't work like we do. You may find it hard to believe, but there are people in other countries that still require a handshake, killing of an animal, consumption of food or beverages when doing business.

I lost a contract with a person I thought was a freind because I faxed her the final revision of my estimate. In her words, "until we have a signed contracts, everything thing is done face to face so she can look me in the eyes". I thought that was strange, but one of her other contractors told me she did everybody that way.

what about the 190 million a day for the Afghanistan war... for the last ten years...

Most Americans have forgotten about that war. It was hardly even brought up in any debates. The pain is not shared equally.
Perhaps both sides can work together on this one and get us the hell out and SAVE money as well as lives.

It doesn't equate to all of them but there are a few that, well, shouldn't have been on the ticket.

Let me amend my that statement. Voting/not voting for anyone because you like/dislike one thing about them is ........

most of the money spent on the "WAR" in Afghaistan is spent bribing the local leadership, and paying for thier support.

$900 billion dollars in stimulus could have bought alot of dinner, paid alot of mortgages....etc.

I know that some of you will never care, and will defend him to the end. The problem is, most are not so blinded. We were promised "change", and that did not mean making america more like Canada....or one of the European Countries where everybody works for the gov.

for the last two years, the people have been waiting....and we have been disappointed. the President had control of both houses of Congress, yet still he cannot make the changes he promised.

stop blaming Bush, it is childish....Democrats controlled Congress for his last two years in office, yet Guantanamo was never closed. The waterboarding was never stopped, and Pelosi lies when she says she was not given a demonstration by the CIA(funny how that whole ordeal dis-appeared).

the Dems did not care about Wall St. as long as they kept giving loans to those that could not afford it, and they all voted for the stimulus.....and even the Wars in Afgh. and Iraq.

I am not defending anybody, only the truth. The truth is what seems to lost in most political conversations. There is blue truth and red truth, both of which contain very little of the real truth. The real truth is Bribes or bonuses, it is still money not well spent.

As far as voting for the war, anyone who spoke up against it was immesdiately labeled as unpatriotic. Voting against it would have been political suicide. It didn't matter if they agreed with the war or not, they did what they had to, to be re-elected. If the Change had come and the masses were happy, I guarantee there would be a ton of republicans supporting Obama Care.

Getting re-elected is all any of them care about.

Where is the "Like" button. That is the truth.

That's my point people only care about what there told to care about. If its not main stream its not news. It's the same reason my wife watches the "E" channel, caring about peoples lives we will never meet. That goes for Twitter as well. Why do I want to tell people I don't know about stuff they don't care about. because famous people made it main stream.

If you don't like our government, go somewhere else.
If your staying here please thank a soldier for your right to ignorance....

this is just a part of the cycle....

when the economy is good, and people are living the good life....we stop watching what our representatives are doing. we accept thier inneptitude and sub-standard behaviour, why because we are making money and happy...

well, because we stop watching them, they forget that they work for us. We get the Dems blackmailing Wall St. into giving loans to people that cannot afford them. we get Dems and Republicans turning a blind eye as Wall St. tries to make money off the crappy loans they were forced to give out....

we allowed the 21st century Crusade, against Islam and wars on several separate fronts...

and nobody really cared until the economy came to a screeching halt and we lost our jobs...

well here we are, "WE THE PEOPLE" have risen from our slumber and want some changes. I don't care if its Dems or Republicans. I want changes.

the American People have been speaking for nearly 2 years, guys like Obama,Pelosi and Reid have ignored them. In 2 more years more people will lose thier cushy gov. jobs if they do not start to listen to what "WE THE PEOPLE" are saying.

oh we are experiencing change... democracy to socialism. I don't want this change. quit giving money to people who have no intent to help themselves. :cussing::cussing:

Can you give some examples of this change to socialism? Please be specific, not just the rhetoric.

Just as I suspected, more factless hate.:poke:

normally, without any fuss or conspiracy.I have a lot of respect for Bill O'Reilly, but to a Brit who has seen his fair share of socialists and lives in a socialist country run by a self-described socialist party by a self-described socialist prime minister who has taken over for another self-described socialist prime minister, it is puzzling why self-described independents like Mr O'Reilly are doing backflips in an attempt to avoid the obvious fact -- President Obama is quite clearly a socialist. All these verbal gymnastics that are used to avoid stating the obvious may be rather humorous for someone watching from over the Atlantic, but for Americans, such delusion is a very serious matter. It is important, not just for the American right, but for the American people as a whole, to realise just exactly who it is they have elected to office. With the approval numbers dropping almost daily for the president, it appears that it is sinking in for the generally center-right American public. However, when people on the right start being "concerned" about describing Obama as what he clearly is, in part due to the hysteria that both sides of the political spectrum exhibit when the word "socialist" is used, then it damages the effectiveness of opposition to him. Instead of being able to define what Obama's aims are in his presidency, those on the left and on the right keep pushing Obama into a slightly left-of-center, non-ideological fog. Such a political move is deceitful, and it does not allow the American public to get a clear perception of just what they have voted into the White House. Those of us across the pond who analyze American politics know exactly who it is you have in the White House. Obama is not some new post-political entity. Nor is he some form of Stalinist that will set up a USSA. He is a normal, well-spoken, charismatic socialist who in Britain would sit quite happily towards the left of the Labour Party alongside figures such as Tony Benn, Aneurin Bevan, Harold Wilson, and Ed Balls. To call someone a socialist is not conspiratorial, and it is not fear-mongering; it is simply the truth, and it is time for some in the conservative media to take a deep breath and admit it -- America has a socialist leading the country. Obama's Great Integrated Communist Society and Loss of Freedom
In Obama's world, things are very simple. He sees everyone working together, no matter their role, for the common good. And in many ways, this could be a useful method of involvement. Indeed, his views have traction with youth and many so-called progressives. At least until Obama's views come uncomfortably close to creating a fellowship between religion, the military, our government and society.

That Obama's success rests so squarely on his social views is beyond question. When beatified by the "democratic" Party, Obama's shining countenance radiated the wholesome and beautiful view of total integration. That wonderful christian idea that we are all brothers and sisters, and that working together we can find a better way.

Seen in this light, it is not hard to see where the first fissures of this philosophy begin to bring things home that people had not considered, especially those who are so trounced by Obama, his campaign and his supporters whenever an event occurs like the front cover of The New Yorker Magazine. Any sacrilegious effort to force the multitudes into individual or even small group thought is enough to bring forward the masses in organized disbelief and complete opprobrium. For when you are god-like, you deserve everything to be adjoined into one large mass, with all complying with whatever is said and, if not, being cast aside by the fawning, worshipful masses.

Social-government interventions and integration, begun under Bush and some others, are going to be even more emphasized under Obama. These are areas in which Obama and historical views of our country and its diversity diverge.

For his societal whole is something we not only do not need in this country, but which eventually will make us into a Nation of lemmings, not individuals. Indeed, the lemming traits are right in front of our eyes. The demand for conformity. The belief that the Obama way is the only way. The view that Obama will integrate us further into some homogenous "post-racial" group of people who are no longer clinging to our guns or able to act or feel differently from others.

please read the whole article at Newsvine - Obama-enforced conformity and proposed governmental integration threaten the very fabric of our Nation

and it's not hate. I don't even know the man, I can say I dissagree with his policies and the shady people he surrounds himself with. and obama would look the same white so it's not a race thing either...... I mean if you want a socialist society where everyone is equal, move to canada or britain:rulez: this is the US where we like freedom and the choice to decide for ourselves. it's DEFINABLY NOT factless hate. Watch the damn news or read some articles on line. if your views are still not changed then you are blind.
