2003 Gsxr1000

I finally bought a Riv-Nut tool, as I can think of a couple times it would've been useful.
I'm going to put them in the 2 swingarm holes where the rear fender mounts...a little stronger and better than the self tapping screws that the fenders come with...or tapping a thread and a half in there and hoping it holds, lol.

Looks like a good kit and it will be really handy to have...

....now I have to get one.....LOL!

MagKnight tank protector.
It's supposed to be flat black, but it matches the frame.
I like it better than the typical center tank protectors, and put one on my new 2002 Gsxr1000...over 22 years ago, wow.
I still may put some side grips on the cover itself, I don't know yet.
I think it'll look better with the seat and fairings on it.
I have a new black synthetic suede cover from LuiMoto on the way too.

Oh, and MagKnight ships the tank guards like this, so they don't wrinkle or crease during shipping.
They smooth on by hand pretty easily, but a little heat from a hair dryer makes them perfect in just a minute or two.

and the carbon fiber look MagKnight I had way back on my '02

The best color for a GSXR too.....the same bike as I had...I even had a Yoshi pipe on mine too.....

I agree
I wanted the black 2001(still do), but couldn't find one anywhere, so I got a blue/white 2002.
I always liked the blue/white Gsxrs, and the hoon factor was strong...as every 600, 750, and 1000 had a similiar color scheme for years, so it was easy to blend in, lol

I remember my '02 was plenty fast too.....compared to today's bikes it's an old wore out dinosaur but in it's day, it was something to be revered....

I took it to a Suzuki track day in I believe '04 and it turned out some decent numbers if I recall....

They can't compete with today's 1k's in acceleration, but they are still very quick by any stretch.

I've seen those before several times.......recently in the Bumblebee....

Oh yeah, and with the new springs, should make a nice improvement.
I may have to take them in and out a few times until the shim stack gives the ride that I want, but I'm looking forward to setting the suspension up after everything is ready to ride.
I'm even going to break out the Motool Slacker for the first time...it's only been on the shelf, new in the box...for a little over 2 years now, lol.
I like the old-school way, with a measuring tape, but am curious to see how much more I can fine tune it, as I have the handlebar display that'll show the sag measurement in real time when riding it.
I need to get the rear shock in before I start on the front, and my Dad is working on a clevis adapter now, so it shouldn't be too much longer...but I still have plenty of other things to do to it, with a pile of new parts on the workbench.

Nothing better than a pile of new, fancy parts just awaiting install.....

I had these valves in pretty much all my bikes including my '85 Gixxers.....

They and the new springs made a big difference on my '02 Gixxer and have made a huge difference in the Bumblebee....

But the tuning was fiddly....

Look terrific! Any tips on the install? I used to do battle with my number plates. Sometimes successfully...
