I understand it sometimes gets stale on some forums... but that's no excuse to play, "Kill the guy with a different opinion!!"
I'm glad you guys got some sort of entertainment at my expense... I was simply trying to get a good informative conversation going about the comparison of both bikes. If I knew I was going to get thrown into a spike pit... I would have kept my opinions to myself!

nope, top out with 16/42 sprockets wouldnt be much, around 170. and since I am not a top-speed racer, I won't get into any discussions of the sort.
You should throw 17/39 gearing and see if you can hit the limiter (should be 201mph with that gearing)
The top speed thing may not be your bag, but you can't tell me you haven't once wondered what she's capable of.

If that really is the new tail section... the busa is... DEAD... That's the ugliest tail section I've ever seen... and the current busa tail is one of the sexiest I've seen.

You count to 100 in one sec, and you can only get to 4 before that time is up.
The dude that dragged the busa and zx12r was 5'2 and couldnt get his little feet anywhere near the ground on the 12.
He couldnt launch, nor come close to the 60' time as he could on the busa....so theres your 4 hundredths.

You guys wonder why Phantom12 cant stop, - every couple of posts someone says something that FORCES him to step up.
The zx12r and the busa SHARE the speed crown. Plain and simple. A zx-12r has been documented to go 199mph by doug meyer and it was piped only. Thats not indicated speedo error, either...its at a track.
So has the hayabusa ever run a documented 200mph? Completely stock except for a pipe? Because I would say it aint the top speed king unless it beat 199mph documented.
Im sick of hearing about magazines that record either of these bikes at 179, or 184, 191 or whatever, because it doesnt matter.
THE TOP SPEED acheivable by either of these bikes is higher than that anyway.
THEY ARE BOTH THE TOP SPEED KING. THE BUSA WAS the KING UNTIL THE ZX12R MATCHED IT.

Just being honest. I owned a zx12r and I sold it and got this 05 busa. So I know whats up with both bikes.
I am just not into hearing people claim the busa is the fastest bike with such blind faith in what they hear. It makes busa owners look like suckers who bought the bike cause they heard it was the fastest.
I like my busa better than I liked my zx11 and zx12. I was a big fan of kawasaki for while there...but now I love the busa. But I wouldnt love it if it sucked...and I wont claim it is anything more than it really is. Its a great bike for me, so I own it.
But I just wont be one of those busa owners who is so starstruck by the busa "mystique" and is scared to death that my beloved busa just might have a match on the streets.
Fact is the zx12r is just as fast as the busa. I owned them both and while the 12 is not as good a bike as the busa in many categories...the zx12r is more powerful than a busa and it hits the same top speed....with 100cc less.
