Who rolls in but Feather guy from one year earlier. Same bike, same bald tires, same feather. Odd coincidence running into this local guy a second time one year apart.

Maybe he's the one with the attitude.

Comptche Ukiah Rd is one of the best sleeper roads along the North Coast. Super twisty. Super fun.

Highway 20 to Willits takes us back to the heat and away from the coast

There's this hole in the wall burger joint we like in Willits. Same parking lot, there's also ice cream. But that idea got nixed in favor of air conditioning. So we headed for Laytonville, a former logging town that's got just the thing.

Payroll from 1956, $355.50 is $3551.63 in today's dollars

A dollar today only buys 10.01% of what it could buy in 1956.

My dad graduated from High School in 1956, so this is our parents' generation.

Last time, gas was 69 cents a gallon? Abandoned store in Branscomb.

I recall paying $88 cents a gallon in 1989.

When I was 12 years old, I used to drive our IH 460 to the closest gas station down the highway, about 5 miles away. My dad gave me a $20 bill, and it almost filled the tank.

Here's me at 12 years old
