This is what pure bliss looks like - Jesus Maria Rd goes like this for 15 miles.

Single lane, new pavement

Forest fire came through here ten years ago in 2015, burned all the trees on the western half, but opened up all the sight lines

Creek in the bottom of the canyon is raging

The low peak in the distance is known as Mokelumne Hill

Single lane frivolity - your adrenaline says this is awesome, go super fast, your brain says slow down stupid, the road is still wet in some parts. And it's a two-lane road with blind corners.

Finally after 15 miles of pure adrenaline, it finally gets back to reality.

More pics of this road... it's a thrill ride, but it used to be goat. Bumpy and patched single lane. The new payment is pure delight.

I wrote this article a few years ago prior to the re-paving, it doesn't look like this anymore.
