I have full coverage, prolly not going to use it, for fear my rates will go through the roof... I also have health ins. BUT the knee is just slightly more than a rug burn would be, not a big deal really.

The cager that I saw swerve was in a mid-sized blue jap car, there was too much going on at the time (flying beacon, semis, traffic behind me, emergency braking etc.) to really focus on the bastid that caused the problem... Sad part was that no one stopped or got his/her plate in the other cages, I'm betting some of them got hit by the beacon also...

You might rethink that, I had similar damage and the repair est. was $6829. Don't know if your rates will go up, there might be a way to check and find out. Maybe you can ask your agent, if there is no accident report and no claim I don't think they can raise your rates for asking.

I don't like filing claims either but years ago I was told that’s why it's called a accident.

Asides from the stat cover, there really was no other major mechanical damage... I need ALL the plastics mainly... I don't think that my repair costs will be over $1,500 total...

You must of had way more damage on your baby

Good thing that you are okay. I want to add to what he said about the insurance issue. I was discussing this with my insurance agent regarding uninsured motorists. This is an insurance option on most policies that would cover you in cases of hit-n-run (this is your case) and other accidents that the other party does not have insurance. I would exercise this option if you have it on your policy and it would not be a no-fault claim. This means that it will not affect your rate due to you was not at fault. The only problem is that if you did not get a police report, but if you did it should show what happened and the insurance adjuster will see this and process as a no-fault claim.

Hope this helps to get your horse back on it's feet.

Holla!!

We are all glad to have you here to tell the tale. It took me a year to get my head back on right after broadsiding a guardrail at 50 in my harley. I decided on the Busa for the next one. I had my leather pants on even in the 90 degree weather. Hope you wear yours on your next ride. I know for a fact no matter how hot it is or how cool you look, your body does come apart rubbing on the road. You take care

Glad to hear you're okay. Sounds like you did all you could to avoid and were fortunate it wasn't worse.

i'm speechless! i will say that i am glad you walked away from that mess. from what i've read, it sounds like you handled that situation as best as you possibly could. get well.
