At the risk of sounding stupid ...

I would keep it above 1500, and below 11,000... so I'd say tween 1600 and 10,500 would be perfect

ok i have ran about 2 or 3 tanks of 93 oct.  through merlin and  i noticed that  he went from  30 mpg  to like 49 to 40  same driving  same stop  and go   my idle is at 985 rpm.  i know everyone says  to run the 87  but you know mine likes the expensive stuff  but  not sure why my mpg went up like that
If you've been buying from the same gas station, switch. Some places just have bad gas in general, not just bad batches, and their premium might not be any better than another station's 87.

I'm assuming, of course, that your bike is stock.

+1 to Atomic about switching fuel sources. Try not to use only one station to fill up. You will notice a big difference if you only fill up at one place for a long time and then start switching.

I get from 34 to 42 MPG depending on whether I ride around town or am up and down the highway. My fast idle is only at about 1700 rpm, not as fast as some of yours...
